warm, comfortable and quiet
easy access to Hobart, close to local attractions, friend owners
We stayed for our 10th wedding anniversary long weekend away. We had and easy drive to the local wineries(divine),resturants, attractions and to Hobart for a great Meal at Mures. The Barracks was warm, clean and with having to leave our dogs at home, it was nice to be able to pat and cuddle Bruno, the owners dog. We have already started to recommend "The barracks" to our family and friends as the place to stay when visiting Southern Tasmania and Hobart areas. great value for money.

Charming cottage in a lovely setting
Clean and comfortable with thoughtful amenities
i can tell that the cottage was furnished with thoughtfulness. Everything we need for our comfort was there - nightlight in bathroom, electric bed warmers, hooks at the right places, etc. Well done! The only thing I missed is a shower cap to complete the list. Breakfast provided was more than ample with selection of yoghurt, bread, cereal, milk and juice but I only gave it a 4 out of 5 'cos I think it'll be even better if there's ham or sausages. But that's just our preference.

quiet, historic and well appointed inside
location, history and very comfortable
It was great. Very friendly staff eager to help. Lovely grounds, within walking distance of historic Richmond. Modern interior with everything I needed. Breakfast supplied was cereal, toast, fruit, coffee, tea and yoghurt. It had a well supplied kitchen if I wanted to cook.
