Friendly and helpful staff. Nice historic-looking building. Easy walk to central Launceston without being right in the middle. Rooms looked nice. Restaurant was enjoyable. Good value for the price.

Mattresses a little soft. Table in room was a bit dirty when we arrived. Parking is in an open-air public car park adjacent to the hotel.

We stayed here for a few days during our honeymoon. The location was convenient, easy to get to/from by car or on foot to explore Launceston. The per-night cost gives a better indication of the hotel quality than the star rating; it wasn't what I'd expect for 4-4.5 stars (aside from the foyer), but the hotel charges weren't at 4-4.5 star level either. The restaurant had a good range, particularly at breakfast. They seemed happy for people to linger a little late over breakfast, but the cutoff time for arriving for dinner was strictly observed (Tasmanians don't seem to eat late).

Restaurant Tip : Visit the Coco Bean cafe nearby - delicious chocolates.
