The Marla Travellers Rest Hotel provides clean, comfortable accommodation, and well maintained camping and caravan sites. Marla township itself was only founded as recently as 20 years ago, specifically to provide welcome rest spot for weary travellers. This small, friendly community has a well-stocked general store, a lively bar and restaurant, and of course the obligatory service station. Naturally the town has no tourist attractions to boast of, though the desert sunsets and incredible night skys are well worth a mention. The lack of reflected light out here in the desert makes for fantastic star gazing, like nowhere else in the world.
