Situated in the best location of melbourne.
It has train station , tramp , bus and dining and entertainment location.
It's weeknesses is that the hotel does not have a parking lot or space for visiotrs for pick up. Although this is the 1st time to melbourne. We were very impressed with the standard of this hotel. In which has a quality of staff which helps us during our stay here.
Getting on to the taxis is very easy.
We are also surprise with the friendly people around which helps us to get to any locations like getting a bus , tramp or trains.
Getting another sub-burbs is very easy and fast.
Lastly not forgetting the nice and friendly staff and good hotel like the kings gate hotel .
We wil also like to introduce this hotels to all our friends who wish to come to melbourne.
Keeps up the good work.we will be coming again maybe end of this year 2009 or maybe in feb2010.

The hotel is easy access by city tram service and the train service (southern cross train station). When doing booking service for the guest, the hotel staff should provide reference number or booking confirmation for the guest. The hotel is a bit far from city centre by walking, however, with its location that close to the transportation, there is no problem at all to get to the city. The room and decoration is nice, but in our room, there is a broken floor. The breakfast is fine as well. However, they should improve the tour/airport shuttle bus service booking service, to make sure that the guests will get the services that meet their requirement.
Restaurant Tip : You can find lots of restaurants at Southern Cross Train Station, which locates at Spencer street (least than 5 minutes walk; 2 blocks from the hotel).

Very convenient as it is in the town itself. Walking distances to the nearest train station, tram station and skybus station (from airport to hotel) The lobby and reception area is very small. I highly recommend this hotel for its hospitality and affordable rates. Very convenient as it is all within walking distances to tram and shuttel bus stops. Along Kingsgate Hotel are numerous restaurants and pubs. The room is not very spacious but it is clean to match with a nice bath area. Next to our room, there is a balcony which overlook King Street. Will reserve this hotel again when we have a chance to be back in Melbourne.
Hotel Feature Tip : Stay on higher floors as the lower ones would be quite noisy caused by traffics below.

The lift move very fast.. The space are very narrow, hard to move around in the room At first, we though it to be quite ok room since the photo taken in the agoda.com look nice. But when we walk into the room, it look as if the space was too narrow for us all to move around at the same time. So i agree that the hotel is just suitable for those who just want to have a place to stay for the night and as for day we went out for the trip. Last but not least, i am still grateful we have the place to stay for the night cause it is really cold out there.

The hotel is just enough for travellers who goes out most of the day. Airport shuttle bus stop at the Southern Cross Station which is close to the hotel, so easy to get there whatever your arrival time is.
