Convenient location
New hotel, tram station just across the street

the hotel, though not centrally located in the cbd, is very accessible by public transport. a tram stop is just in front of the hotel entrance and the free city circle tram stop is just around the corner.
the city's main train station (southern cross) is only about 5 minutes walk.
the hotel is pretty new, hence the rooms have the modern feel. tv is lcd, not the old box type ones that are still common in most hotels.
breakfast though has not much selection - only continental (cold) breakfast is available.
Travel tip:
the free city circle train can take you to major tourist attractions. take advantage of it.
shopping and dining is just a few minutes walk or tram ride.
the etihad stadium is approximately just 5-10 minutes walk.

The room was large, clean and the room facilities comprehensive. If you are looking for nice view, please request the room facing dockland. It has very good view. The place is not competitive as it is a bit far to central Melbourne. It looks close to Dockland but actually it's far. But there is a tram station nearby so it's not a big problem.

Stayed at this place in Jan'12 for 2 weeks. Loved the room and the view. The room was serviced everyday. A job well done. For a single person the room was sufficiently large and functional. Tea/coffee/hot water preparation facilities, ironing board and a clothes press, radio alarm clock, effective air conditioning etc. My only crib would be lack of enough channels on the TV and the lack of any mechanism to get fresh air into the room (double sealed windows). Else, all was perfect. Would happily stay again.
Shopping Tip:
Coles supermarket right across the street, open till 12AM everyday. Helps.
