Clean and functional hotel in a great location
The location right in the heart of Melbourne

the citigate is located on flinders street, right in the heart of melbourne's cbd. this location is a great base for shopping, partying or sightseeing as all of melbourne's major shopping precincts, many great pubs and bars and most of melbourne's tourist attractions are within walking distance.
the service is decent and the rooms are nice, except for the bathrooms which are a bit spartan. overall this is a great hotel for the price range in the center of melbourne.

checked into this hotel based on others reviews at agoda. and it is a brilliant hotel to stay at. fantastic location! just opposite flinders train station as well as having a free tram stop right at front of hotel. rooms are nice, spacious and clean. staff are very helpful and always greet you with a smile. We will definitely stay at citigate again while in melbourne. thankyou to all the staff at citigate for making our stay a pleasant one.
Hotel Feature Tip:
the city circle tram is a free service that circles the melbourne cbd. it is tram no 35, and is located in front of citigate hotel. definitely a must try.

Perfect location!

Citigate Melbourne is situated in an ideal location. Directly across from Flinders Station and right near tram access, we were more than happy with the convenience of the hotel. Popular restaurants and shops are also within walking distance. We had a pleasant stay overall!

The staff were friendly. They can double up as your tour guide and recommend you some of the must go places in Melbourne City. Lots of food, shopping. Its simply where you want to stay to live and breathe Melbourne.

We really enjoyed our stay at Citigate Melbourne and would recommend it to others. The location is fantastic - being so close to all the city attractions and services. The staff really went out of their way for us and nothing was too much trouble. We felt that we received real value for money. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!

Great if not spending a lot of time there

Great staff at the reception. What was great was just jumping on a tram to any direction from almost right outside. Rooms of modest size. Couldn't open the curtains because we were facing another close building with lots of windows.

The Hotel was very clean and well presented. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room itself was ideal for business. Internet portal was very handy. I always love to have foxtel and this hotel provides it - great selection of channels ...not only the sports ones but also an assortment of documentary and news. Movie selections were also quite comprehensive and easy to follow the instructions on the remote which is always helpful.
Very clean bathroom but funny enough no soap. There was shampoo etc but no soap for washing hands at the basin. Not sure if this is something that has been eliminated recently or maybe my room was the only one that had it missing.
The rooms are comfortable and very quiet.
The best part if the unbeatbale location. Walking distance to everything!
