Close location to Chapel Street and surrounds. Very friendly staff
The Claremont is a Hostel and not a hotel.
Not matter which way you look at it, the Claremont is a hostel and not a hotel as we expected when we booked. The rooms are spartan with bunk beds and you need to share bathroom and toilet facilities. Backpackers are the mainstay of the Claremont and there advertising should make this distinction regardless of how friendly their staff might be.
Travel tip : Trams and trains are within easy walking distance to access most of Melbourne.
