Location, location, location: Fantastic location in the heart of St. Kilda---just a couple minutes walk to the bars and cafes on Acland Street and easily walkable distances to the beach and the nightlife on Fitzroy Street. There are 2 tram lines that run in front of the hotel so it has easy access to the city and South Yarra.
Rooms: We stayed in a deluxe room, which was spacious and had a nice big window facing the front of the hotel.
Service (or lack, thereof): There only appears to be one person working at the reception desk at any given time so you may end up waiting for a while just to check-in, or check-out for that matter. Beds were made up every day and the towels were folded, but it did not look like the housekeepers actually cleaned (i.e. hoover the floor, wipe down the desk, replace the toiletries).
Noise: Although we had a great view out the front of the hotel, I think the windows are not double-glazed and the backpacker bar across the street can be a bit noisy until the wee hours of the morning---particularly on the weekends.
This is a great hotel to stay in for the location, particularly if you like a contemporary hotel with clean lines and not too much fuss. It's a trendy area so you are right in the middle of St. Kilda with easy access to Luna Park, the beach, the bars and restaurants on Acland Street and Fitzroy street, and the arts precinct is a 20 minutes tram ride away. Don't expect great service and you won't be disappointed.
Restaurant Tip : There is a great breakfast place across the street from the hotel called The Galleon and would highly recommend eating there at least once! There is usually a queue but it's worth the wait!
