How close to Melbourne's transport and entertainment hub can you get?
We walked the city at night and caught a tram from outside of the hotel to the MCG.
There is plenty of redevelopment happening and those 'new' rooms look excellent. The staff were very professional and nothing was too much for them.
Street noise can be an issue and I would suggest double glazing of windows to help dampen this. Some people might be turned off by the redevelopment but we didn't care.
Definitely value for money and we would stay there again. Clean, safe and in the middle of a wonderful city. Caring staff and a great restaurant.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk the city at night and catch a free City Circle tram during the day.
The Docklands are a 5 min walk.

loaction is good, just a block to city loop tram and walking distance to most other things. no traffic noise which is surprising considering how busy melbourne is
still renovating, last time i stayed they said it would be ready by feb, now its april. when people sit in the courtyard the sound echos making it noisy for everyone else
service as usual was friendly, but had to wait several hours for the plumber to fix the toilet, i asked for another room as we wanted to take a nap..didnt happen..lack of initiative on the receptionists part, quite disappointing and a bit annoying. breakfast is nothing flash but was included in the price so it was quite adequate
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : take the free tram in flinders street goes in a circle round the city, ideal for several locations and sight seeing

Easily accessible from Southern Cross Station, near tram stop. Comfortable bed, nice shower.
Didn't get wake up call we requested. Unit in need of upgrade.
We found the hotel easily and the staff were very friendly. Our room was advertised as leading out onto a courtyard, we soon found out it is actually a building site, not sure what is being done but our visions of sitting out relaxing were soon crashed. The sliding door to our bathroom was in need of repair and the whole room could do with redecoration.
Travel tip : Sparkling Cafe on Collins Street did a great breakfast but wasn't open Saturday or Sunday.

Location, breakfast room open long hours.
Building work going on in our part of the hotel from 7am until 3pm. Small charge for use of safe.
Arrived very early in the morning, but were able to be accommodated straight away. Despite the building work, had a pleasant stay in the hotel and its location is within easy walking distance of the city centre and the Yarra River. Breakfast was available all morning so no need for an early rise!

The hotel is very basic but the location and price makes it a great value. The main asset of this hotel is the employees. From the front desk to the people who clean the rooms. They are very friendly and make you feel welcome.
The area were I was located was under construction so there was dust in the common area.
The breakfast was included but was very basic.
Overall, the hotel is very basic but the location and price makes it a great value!!! It is located adjacent to the Southern Cross train station, the convention center, casino and the Telstra Dome. Additionally, a short walk to Flinders street and Federation Square. The main asset of this hotel is the employees. From the front desk to the people who clean the rooms. They are very friendly and make you feel welcome.
The room was very basic. The bed and furniture were old but comfortable. The bathroom had everything I need. I would recommend changing the shades from the window and putting a curtain.
The only negative I can say is that the area were I was located was under construction so there was dust in the common area.
The breakfast was included but was very basic. There is room for improvement here.
Overall, I would recommend the hotel for solo travelers and travelers in a budget.
Hotel Feature Tip : The cheapest way to get there from the airport is using the Skybus to Southern Cross train station. The hotel is just accross the street.

Location. OK if on a very tight budget.
Very basic. I wouldn't stay there with my girlfriend or if traveling as a group.
Here's the deal: Apparently the rooms that face the courtyard are the old, run-down dirty rooms and the rooms in the front of the hotel are a little nicer and for business travelers. I wasn't aware of this, and ended up booking the rooms that face the 'courtyard, which is basically an open void covered with corrugated iron roof and the stairs and walkways are made of scaffolding-like structures. The room was small, dark, looked dirty. Same with the bathroom. I was traveling alone and spending most of my time seeing the city and only went to the hotel to keep my things and sleep. I would not go back there. The location is good, but there are other nice hotels nearby that may cost a little bit more, but I'll happily pay up next time.

Friendly staff.
Clean room.
Comfortable bed.
A little noisy with construction works but I knew about this before booking.
If you're looking for budget accommodation in Melbourne look no further than the Enterprize Hotel. It is within walking distance of Southern Cross Station or you could catch a tram for a block. Location is perfect for those wanting to visit Melbourne's tourist attractions.
The room was clean and neatly presented. No paint falling off the wall or dirty stains on the carpet. The bed was very comfortable.
The staff are of the highest quality. Very helpful and friendly and willing to help you plan your day if your a tourist and would like assistance.
I highly recommend the Enterprize Hotel Melbourne.
Hotel Feature Tip : I found the second I told the staff I was from the country they bent over backwards to help me plan my tours and made sure I saw all the Melbourne sights.

Close to Spencer Street station.\nGood budget value accommodation.
Covered courtyard made it was very dark in rooms.\nCurrently undergoing renovations so very noisy very early.
The Hotel Enterprize is a neat and well kept budget hotel that is close to Spencer Street station,South bank and the city. Service was very good. The down fall was that it is being renovated and workmen started at 7am and were very loud.
Hotel Feature Tip : Close to station and airport transfers - good for people staying in town prior to air travel.

Location is great - close to most things
Little bit of construction/remodelling going on but it didnt make any difference to the stay and should be finished in a few weeks
Staff were courteous and friendly, breakfast was good and we were served at our seat with our bacon and eggs - bit surprised actually!

Our visit to Melbourne was specifically for the Cup so location to the Train Station was the primary reason for staying at this hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Sparkling Cafe in Collins Street did a nice breakfast with great coffee.
