The jasper is adjacent to the Victoria market, one of the most fantastic food, clothing, you name it markets I have ever visited. It is also close to the Lygon street restaurant row and some new and trendy restaurant areas.
Transportation of all ssorts is just around the corner and it is within a five minute cab ride from Southern Cross train and coach station.
The rooms are modern and well appointed. the reception staff more than willing to help with whatever needs you may have.
EAch floor is painted with a shockingly different color by the elevator entrance. This may help if you've come home far from sober and need a reminder that you have indeed selected the right floor, however, in the morning being faced with a brilliant pink, or irradescent green may prove a bit hard to take.
This is a hotel to remember, the prices are reasonable, free city circle trams and suburban trams are within a block of the hotel entrance. You can also step out and find within a ten to fifteen minute walk almost any type of ethnic restaurant you might want. Chinatown about a fifteen minute brisk walk is also available.
For those with a penchant for museums the worlds only still functioning major nineteenth century exhibition hall is there adjacent to the melbourne Museum. tickets for one hour guided tours of the exhibition hall are available in the museum and, in my opinion are a don't miss opportunity.
A bit further away is the Fedeeration Square and the Botanic Gardens. Both are within walking distance if one is so inclined but, should you feel a bit tired, are accesable via the free city circle red tram.
If you're going to spend some time in Melbourne and want to see it all I believe this is a good launcing point.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Victoria market is a must, it's colorful fun and free. If you want to spend time over lunch in the market there are lunch stall selling cuisine from all over the world and just outside tables and chairs that you can use to enjoy in coomfort what you've purchased inside.

very strategic location, clean, the room space, nice decor
The hotel located in a very strategic location, Mc Donald next door and the queen victoria market is only about 200mtrs. There are lots of coffee shop, restaurant around the hotel area and also the tram stop is only a block away. You can reach China town by walking distance, means you have no trouble in finding foods. The hotel itself is very clean and minimalist look. And the nice thing about the hotel is i can open the window ( I stayed at 4th floor). I did not try the coffeeshop at the hotel, so I can't comment on that. Overall, i think this hotel deserve an excellent review. And i will surely stay there again when i visit Melbourne
Shopping Tip : if you love shopping..you should stay here..there are lots of shops around here..from myer to David Jones
