It's very close to shoping center and China town. Also, you should get easy for transportation or you can walk from sky bus terminal to reach hotel if you know the exact location.

Rooms are a bit small
I've stayed here again and everything was pretty much the same as my last review but it seems that all the rooms are not made in the same way. There are small differences in every room. Nothing too big. Overall, had a great stay again. Will definitely stay again if the rates are competitive!

I've stayed at the Mercure Welcome on a couple of occasions. It's pretty central and is a great place to crash on a short business trip. Smack in the city so the convenience is excellent. Quaint hotel, clean rooms.
The rooms are not very large but they accomodate everything you would need. The TV channels are limited (not that it mattered much).
Overall, the Mercure Welcome is a quaint hotel located right on Swanston Street, right in the middle of the Melbourne CBD. Transport is easy to and from the airport via the Skybus and the rooms are small but clean. The area is pretty vibrant on a weekend night so be ready for some noise but that's just the fun of city living. I've stayed there on a couple of occasions and expect that I will probably stay there more if the rates continue to be reasonable.
