My friend and I was booked the hotel via Agoda with very good price and once stay at hotel on first day we found that the hotel located at the heart of Melbourne City which is very good location. The room is quite small but fit enought for 2 persons. However, I found the heater machine had a very bad smell so we cound't turn it it on even not cannot sleep. However, I recommend to stay here with worth for price and location as well. Enjoy here you will happy o stay in Melbourne, ofcourse !!!
Shopping Tip : A lot of Pharmaceutical shop with very good price and variety product for you around the hotel. Supermarkets are also nearby such as Coles, Woolworth, Big W. Then enjoy shopping here.

We were very pleased to find this hotel right in the heart of Melbourne, within walking distance to many of the important sights. There is a free city bus and a free tram, both circling the city, but on different routes. You can get off and on at any stop. Attractions are described in brochure and orally. The hotel room was small, but the bed was comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It is easy to get a bus to/from the airport. We enjoyed it thoroughly!
Restaurant Tip : We found a great Mexican restaurant just 3 blocks away (Taco Bill's).

Tired-looking oldfashioned rooms, poor noise insulation
They say "You get what you pay for!" but while you pay a fair lot for hotel beds in MEL, you don't get that much, Next time I would not try to cut costs and rather opt for something a little more pleasant than the Mercure. I like the Accor chain, but this hotel is under par.
Travel tip : Some of the city's main food precincts are less than 5 min walking away.
