With only 50 suites on the premises, guests will find the Metro Apartments has little in common with larger, impersonal hotels. Great location in the center of the city; full amenitities with all details included in the bathroom and the kitchen, friendly staff. Parking with an issue. There is no on-site parking. Arrangements made with a garage that is not particularly close for reduced rates but definitely the cost could add up as well as the time spent accessing your vehicle. This was a great full serviced apartment. We stayed there as a family of four and had plenty of room. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to make simple meals. There was also a washer/dryer. The bathroom was also fully stocked. The rooms were not overly spacious, but they were fine. The location was great for walking within the city; very central. However, parking was a big issue. The hotel does not have parking and the arrangements made with a garage for parking can still add costs if one plans to use the car regularly ($16 per day or per vehicle exit during the week). Also, the garage is not very close to the hotel which is not convenient.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Nice walk down to the Yarra River for all of the riverside attractions including dining and shopping. Also a great outdoor market on Sundays.

very centrally located on Bank Place, 10 mins walk to Bourke st Mall in Melbourne.
Near shops and many restaurants, only 30mins taxi drive to Tullermarine airport.
Quite apartments that are well decorated.
Staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. Windows do not open,only way to cool down was to have aircon on all the time, which is very dehydrating, and not good for the environment.
The one bedroom apartment is very small and the cleaners do the basics only, and quite a bit of dust was noticeable on furniture, TV etc.
The hotel rooms we move to for our final two nights were very tiny and only really suitable for one person not a couple, despite costing $155 a night, which seemed very expensive for the actual size of the room.
The one bedroom apartments cooking facilities were inadequate and I expected a full stove to cook a meal, if I chose.
Overall my husband and I had a comfortable stay at the Metro apartments on Bank Place. Nevertheless, its quite pricey for the fairly basic standard decor of the apartment. It was quiet and centrally located and 20mins drive from Tullermarine airport which was very conventient for us. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay, despite the small size of the one bedroom apartment and cramped shower facilities.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : 15 min walk to Bourke st Mall, Federation Square and South Bank

fantastic situation within walking distance of Melbournes inner city Fantastic place to stay in the centre of Melbourne if you just want a base to rest after a day of shopping and sightseeing!! Despite being in the centre of city it was quiet. Rooms are small but comfortable. Clean and tidy. Great shower and well appointed bathroom. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Would stay there again.
