The location is superb, the view Feels like a old style hotel, the rooms are quite small, the beds are quite small I've stayed at quite a few Novatel's and unfortunately this is not one of the better ones. The positives were the location, right on the Esplanade and very near to the beach, Fitzroy Street and Acland Street where the good bars and restuarants are. The views from the room are also excellent. However the rooms were quite small, and we were meant to have a Queen size bed and it was definitely not. Also the staff were not very friendly and seemed like they did not care. We tried to order drinks from room service one night quite late and the porter said we could only have a bottle of wine and not a glass, and when we asked for something else he said anything we could have was already in the fridge and he could not help. For a hotel of this price it felt more like a travelodge, and I think it has a lot more potential than is currently being used. Overall quite dissapointed.

Clean and bright decor.
Friendly staff. Could hear most of the normal noise from adjacent rooms, shower turning on and off and general bumps. This was a bright clean and pleasant hotel in a great location.
The staff were helpful and friendly.
Although we did not need to use them the restaurant and bar looked inviting and comfortable.
The room and it's facilities were of a reasonable size for a short stay and we were quite comfortable.
We would stay there again.
Restaurant Tip : Excellent restaurants and cafes.
Excellent beach and walking path along the beachfront.

Shopping Tip : Go on a sunday and enjoy the arts and crafts market, directly accross from hotel.
