The Rendezvous Grand Hotel Melbourne is newly renovated. The rooms are attractive and very clean. The beds are quite comfortable, and the bathroom was nicely done, though small. We found the computerized lighting system in the room a bit confusing to operate. While the location is central, Flinders Street is not one of the nicer streets in downtown Melbourne, typical of streets near central train stations. The grand, old building still has the charm of a previous era, and some of its foibles including a staircase from the street leading to the hotel lobby.

quietness, Cleaniness, We were very surprised by the hotel when we got there not what we were expecting, it was much nicer and larger.

Our stay was great i would've preferred to see amicrowave in the room as we had a toddler and it would've been great if we copuld've heated he's milk and dinner up.But other then that it was a great place to stay.

my wife and i stayed for 3 nights and found the service to be very good. the hotel is old and althought the rooms are in the process of being modernized the reminder has not lost the old world carm with decorative ceilings and columns in the reception areas and bar which has very comfortable leather seating.
located opposite flinders st station and a short stroll to south bank we found it ideally situated for sight seeing.
