Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. We want you to pay the lowest possible rate for your room. If you have reserved a hotel room through Agoda, and then show us that you could book the same room, for the same dates, at a lower rate, that is viewable and bookable on another website, within 48 hours of booking your room with us, we will either match that rate or beat it. Position, friendiless, cleanliness, open spaces, excellent restaurant, spacious rooms

None

We were greeted and made welcome on our arrival. The hotel had a relaxed atmosphere and was very spacious. The room was a very pleasant room and all the facilities were good. It was easy to get into the heart of the city and advice and help were readily available. The restaurant was also spacious, with a varied menu; the service and food were excellent. We would fully recommend it.

We loved the location of the hotel. It is central to everything you need. Walking distance to casino and shopping outlets. The rooms were comfortable.

Breakfast. Only 2 choices continental or full.

I found the Rendevous to be a great place to stay while in Melbourne. Its location is just perfect, within walking distance to the casino and shopping outlets. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. The only concern was the breakfast menu. If you just wanted somthing small you could not have it. The only choices were continental and full breakfasts. Other than that the Rendevous is an awsome place to stay.

Location, location, location. The hotel is ideally located opposite Flinders Station, right in the heart of Melbourne. Walking distance to most City attractions and great transport access, both to trains and trams. Hotel is in a heritage building. Some people may like the historic feel about the builing. High Ceilings. Staff are mostly friendly and competent.

Many rooms have no view whatsoever and very little natural light. Room size seems to be artitrary - same class of room can very in size a LOT. Due to the heritage nature of the building, the hotel decor is not exactly contemporary. The furniture is quite old too, bathrooms are small and the general impression is that it's very much due for renovation although it isn't falling apart. Don't expect any flat screen TVs here! Air conditioning quality seems to vary between rooms.

You wouldn't want to spend all day long in the Hotel and just as well Melbourne has so much to offer. The hotel is ideally placed to enjoy the City's attractions without necessarily having to rely on public transport or walking far. An excellent base for forward operations. But there is a reason why the hotel is cheaper than most other inner City hotels in melbourne. It's not exactly state of the art facilities but the building does have character and history no doubt. Most confused about the room allocations - there seem to be two completely disjoint parts of the hotels (separate elevator access and no interconnection). One part seems to be much newer, at leat judging by the elevators. Paying for the better rooms does not guarantee you will be in the nice wing. Whatever the shortcomings are, if you are mostly interested in experiencing the City rather than the hotel itself, then this is good value for money and gives you a great platform from where to explore the city. I have no idea what the in-house restaurant is like. I'd recommend exploring the narrow alleys for a nice place to eat, head out to Lygon or sneak out to Crown for a decent bite to eat.

Restaurant Tip : A fabulous little cup cake shop with nice coffee very close nearby: As you walk out of the hotel, turn left (wihtout crossing the road). After the first light, look for a little lane/alley on your left. About 20 or som meters down on your right is where it is (very small, with only three tiny tables outside).

didn't hear any noise from traffic or trains around busy flinders street station.close to main attractions.

would like to include in crockery a nice big mug to have a decent cup of coffee/tea. cup in pantry not big enough.

as i am a frequent visitor to melb (i just love shopping, shopping and more shopping!!!!!!)this hotel was in the right location. close to pretty much everything and anything, federation square, southbank & casino, you just cross over the road where there is a walkway under flinders street station and cross over the bridge which takes you to southbank and its many eateries and shops etc. so take a walk and see all the many activities happening on and around these area. just great.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : the best two ways to travel free around melbourne are the free city tram that take you around the city circle and then there is another bus that takes you for free around the outskirts of the city and both of these you can get on or off where ever the signs are for free!!!! great for sightseeing and just to get to the places that require a bit of walking to get there. saves your legs for all that shopping.

Gd location, accessible

A little old

It has been my second time staying with this hotel. Staff are courteous and helpful. However, the room is a little old and small for the price we are paying. It is great if you need a hotel that is centrally located and nearby to the CBD. Overall, it is a good and clean hotel. Just that the room is a little small.

Travel tip : Nearby to tram stop where there is the free city circle tram and Flinder street station.

good location near train station, river and many hot spots in Melbourne

Small room, thin walls

The hotel was mostly fine for our needs in Melbourne, though the room was rather small and the carpet not very clean. The facility has a tiny gym, provided coffee/tea in the room and had very helpful and friendly staff. The biggest plus of this place was that it was walking distance to nearly everything we wanted to see or to the transit to get there.

Travel tip : There is free wi-fi nearby at both the Mac Donald's and the food courts - a bonus!

Nice building

None

Well located next to the Yarra river, within easy reach of Federation Square, Flinders Street Station and the free tram route. Behind the station is a footbridge across the river to Southbank business district and its restaurants. The staff were very efficent and helpful. The building is old and full of charm. Usually this means that the rooms are not good, but this is not the case. They are a little small but mine was very clean and well equiped. It had a view accross the river and overlooked Flinders Street below. There was no excessive noise from the traffic. I would stay here again.

Thoroughly recommend the hotel, we loved the rooms (very spacious for two people) but did have issue with aircon the first night, which did ruin our first day here due to the heat, but hotel was quick to fix this (air con was down in all rooms not just ours)

Shopping Tip : For a half price on tour/shows, visit a place called Halftix on Swanston street (the have a little red flag outside and is easily missed) in the old townhall building. great savings. Tickets can only be purchased for same day shows or tours departing next day.
