On tram route
Hall carpets need replacing
The Motel was easy to locate either by car or tram, and is close to the City. The room we used was comfortable inviting and clean, enough space to enjoy stay.
We would stay again without hesitation, parking under cover and resonable rate.
The motel is near the Childrens hospital, park and pleasant residental area as well as being accessable to a major road.

rooms were clean and orderly
parking cost $10 extra, breakfast $24pp extra, no security guards or system evident, 10am checkout
Wasn't too happy being charged $10 to park my car, then there was no real security evident for the car park, not too good in a city full of vandalism on every corner. Then the elevator, scary! Looks 50 years old and not maintained to well. Then checking out - only one poor guy on the front desk taking phone calls and trying to juggle all checkouts at the same time. I take my hat off to him, doing 3 jobs at the same time but not too good for the customer. I think i'll pay a few $ more and stay somewhere nicer next time.

Peak times lack of staff on desk.
We recommend Rydges North Melbourne as a base for exploring Melbourne. The rooms are spacious and well designed. Proximity to public transport (two minutes to tram), and attractions of Melbourne city is a real plus. Free car parking a bonus. Staff are friendly and helpful, though at times there are not enough staff on desk at peak times. As a guest you have free use of a local gym for fitness, complements hotel pool and sauna.
Restaurant Tip : Great local restaurants in North Melbourne, all within walking distance. Short trip to Carlton, Brunswick or city restaurants.
