Quiet location yet close to city

decent hotel located just a short walk or tram ride from the main cbd. has quite a few decent food options nearby. the rooms themselves were quite big, yet definitely dated and the bathrooms were average at best. had room service once and the food was overpriced and not very tasty.

though it's located in campus area which is not too crowded, but it's easy to reach anywhere because in front of the hotel, we can find tram stop easily... they also have a very helpful and friendly staffs, so don't be hesitate to ask them anything

The Rydges was great - especially the location, being a short tram ride into the city centre (or walk, if we wanted). Was more than happy with the service given, and the rooms were very spacious and as clean as one would expect. The open pool area was great, although very cold in the Melbourne wind. Would definitely recommend, especially if you can pick it up at a promo rate like we did.

Stayed 2 nights on two seperate occasions. Both bathrooms had chipped and mouldy tiles - so value for money took a dive. Room was clean & comfortable & staff very friendly on both occasions.
Checkout at 0830 took 20 min.
