An icon with service to match
The locality is wonderful for transport shopping and shows

Yes we would come again but book the upper floors. Our room was on a lower floor and had to suffer the noise of tennants walking around and extremely noisy plumbing when the upstairs shower was on.

The old lady of Melbourne hotels

We arrived in pouring rain and had a welcome by the cosierge whilst in the taxi. We did not see our luggage after that until we got to our room. The highlight of the stay was old fashioned service and the ambience of this one of our favourite hotels. This time our room was a little small but have had bigger rooms on other occasions .
Unfortunatly we had other committments so missed out on high tea
Travel tip:
Get the 96 tram to St Kilda on the corner for a day out
Use the red tram to get around the city its free

Lovely hotel, preserved in its old setting, lovely place for photographs. Unfortunately no vegetarian options on the menu, however with the city at your doorstep, no need for room service!

Historic hotel, great location, friendly service.
An excellent location and charming piece of Melbourne's history.

We took advantage of the Hotel's location to:
- enjoy late afternoon drinks in the Cricketer's Bar
- have a wonderful new year's eve dinner in Melbourne's nearby Chinatown and
- walk through the Treasury Gardens (diagonally opposite the Hotel)to view the fireworks display and stroll 'home' easily afterwards, avoiding all traffic hassles.
Restaurant Tip:
On New Year's Day (public holiday) breakfast was served in the grand ballroom - lovely experience.

You would stay at the Windsor for its unique charm and history,

We enjoyed our stay for our wedding anniversary. We thought our room was fantastic and a bed that was so comfortable.
The meal we had in the evening in the dining room was delicious.
We look forward to staying again.
Nightlife Tip:
The Windsor is is right next to the theatre area of Melbourne. There are always fantastic shows to go to at Her Majesty's, The Comedy or the Princess theatres as well as other in town.
