Great hotel that has seen better days.

I use to live in Melbourne when the Windsor Hotel meant something. My room was not clean and light fittings in the bathroom where hanging exposing wiring. Globes also blown. This was NOT as deluxe room in a 5 star Hotel that they claim they are. I would rate them as 4 star at best.

It was good enough, except the airconditioning did not cope with the 37 degree day, and the wedding venue - Bourke Room definitely needs new airconditioning for any further functions.
The room air conditioning also could not cope, but this has happened on three occassions now, winter and summer, for a five star hotel, this is not good enough.

Hotel was fine , very comfortable and the staff were quite pleasant.
Did not use any of the Hotel facilities so cannot comment.
Not too pleased by being charged $2.20 to pay via credit card.
Its not the amount, it's the fact you get an additional charge, maybe this should be built into the cost of the room.Not sure of the legal ramifications.

We really enjoyed out stay, everything went very smoothly and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely pay that little bit more to stay there again.

History, tradition. the feel of being within something that isn't "fly by night"

There may be "better value" stays in Melbourne on a range of fronts, but I liked the fact that we were in themidst of an "experience of longevity."
Hotel Feature Tip:
The high tea is an "experience" but not the best in Melbourne any longer (if it ever was).

freindly and a great resturant with pre theatre menu was a bonus for us as we were going to the princess theatre which is only a short walk

Good room in a nice hotel with lots of charm, Great location in melbourne for sightseeing. Right across from paraliment house and near the trains and trams. great place to go for walks and to see shows with the theaters very close by. Overall Good hotel to stay in Melbourne
