Good location, very affordable, clean, all the basics you would expect from a hotel.
The bathrooms could do with a little sprucing up as the appear dated. Also it was rather annoying that we could not adjust or turn off the air-conditioning in the room
All in all I thought it was very good value for money. You have all your basic amenities, and it is very conveniently located two blocks away from Hay Street Mall. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There were a few minor problems here and there but otherwise we were very happy with the room.
Restaurant Tip : There's a nice restaurant cum bar the next street over on Murray Street called Fuche. Good place to go if you want a night out not too far from the hotel.

Strict checkin times to late room preparation
This hotel will offer early checkin but at a high price which means from an early flight I would feel much better to stay at the Mantra hotel group. Look around and you will find better value.

I like the simplicity of the hotel ambience and it's minimalist style. Modern and contemporary.
Could do a lot more on more channels on TV.
The overall experience at Citigate has been wonderful. Location wise isn't too far in walking distance to the nearby city centre. Simple, modern contemporary style of decor for the lobby, restaurant and rooms keeps it updated. Definitely value for money but more suitable for either couple, solo or business traveller as it's not suitable for family.
Travel tip : If you are hungry the the odd hours, there's a FAST EDDY that's open 24 hours to fill your stomach just round the corner of the hotel. A plus point if you are looking for a bite.
