A nice B&B hotel near the pier and train station

Clean, comfortable and convenient with high-speed free wifi
7.3
This is my first time to stay in a B&B hotel, which is really beautiful and well decorated. The bedroom and bathroom are clean. The room is a bit small but it is fine. The wifi is free-of-charge and it is amazingly fast! We rarely saw any staff in the hotel and we served ourselves throughout our stay. Nevertheless, we are satisfied with the accomodation.
Hotel Feature Tip: Remember the main gate entrance PIN when doing the first check-in as there is no reception so the guests need to enter the main gate themselves using the PIN sent by the B&B hotel in advance.

Good central location, comfortable rooms.

Central location, nice room.

very helpful and welcoming owner. lovely cool comfortable room, but i dislike sharing bathrooms with strangers. however, these were spacious and well appointed. parking very difficult generally in fremantle.
Restaurant Tip: Good Italian restaurant just around the corner in the High Street, just a few hundred yards from the accomodation.

Quaint and comfortable but pricey

clean and tidy, comfortable bed

This is a nice central place to stay but the tv had hardly any channels that worked and I was woken by someone boiling the kettle in the shared hallway where the coffee and tea facilities were. I also couldn't find a clean cup for my cuppa later. The day I arrived it was really hot so it was great to walk into the cool room which unlike some places was not too freezing!

Great Value, Friendly Service

Plenty of space, friendly and knowledgable owner, excellent self catering facilities
9.7
We stayed in the "downunder suite", which is on the lower ground floor. We had three adults and there was plenty of room. The suite has a fully equipped kitchen and laundry/bathroom and would be an excellent choice for couples, families or people who want to self cater. The hotel is very well located, a short walk from the beach, town centre, railway station and 'B-shed' ferry terminal.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: If you are going on a day trip to Rottnest Island the ferry companies offer substantial discounts if you book more than five days in advance.

Great location, Fantastic host , very small rooms

Peter, the owner, has to be a major plus with this hotel. Always friendly and happy to help in any way he can. Inclusive breakfast and internet access is are also major pluses - breakfast was self-service but plenty of it and very enjoyable too (especially the home-made yoghurt!).

The only downside is that the rooms really are small. Fortunately the point of being there was to get out and about, so you can work around it, but even if you wanted to there was nowhere to unpack suitcases into. We usually don't bother anyway so we could work around that too - but even finding space for two suitcases isn't easy. So if you're considering staying there, be aware of that. Also note that bathroom(s) are shared - that's good and bad - means you can both use one at the same time, but only if no-one else is. It was never a problem for us! The aircon in our room was also very noisy but again you almost get used to it... Overall though you CAN work around the negatives and the positives outweigh them. It's a quirky place with it's own history as a building too, so if that appeals, give it a go! Just don't expect it to be a hotel - the clue lies in the name!

Historical

history in modern times

Nice little bed and breakfast with a great sense of hisory to it, as with a lot of fremantle there is a lot of history scattered around the place and you get the feel of this as soon as you stand out the front of this historical building once in the room you start to wonder what has happened in this place in days gone by, anyone that likes history will enjoy a stay at this place

Great location

All that you need

Was great place to stay but there was a very bad damp smell in the kitchen that needs urgent attention and could do with information on local places to eat and airport transfers or local taxi services.

The location was great

We came with two kids 6 and 4 and then the Room was two small. The Room in basement would have suited us better.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Very nice big playground within walking distance.

Awesome B&B, beautiful interior and great location

Clean, beautiful and well equipped B&B.
9.7
Stayed at the Fremantle B&B for one sat night. The building looks really nice, both exterior and interior. We saw wedding couples taking photographs in front of this historical building. The location was also convenient, within walking distance to markets, restaurants, and scenic beaches. We booked the down under suite with it's ensuite bathroom and personal dining area. Really loved the idea of the self-served breakfast, as that meant we can help ourselves to the juices, milk & tea and any time of the day. Bread was also provided, with a toaster & kettle. I really enjoyed my stay, and it was a pity we did not get to meet and thank the owner & staff for the wonderful stay. Will definitely return to stay for another weekend at Fremantle.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: A suggested itinerary at Fremantle: Do visit the Eshed markets & the Fremantle markets which are opened during the weekend. Have a relaxing drink at the Little Creatures Brewery, really like the Apple cider they sell. Enjoy a delicious fish & chips at Kailis Fish Market. Have dinner at a an awesome Korean restaurant called Chogajip. They serve really delicious Korean dishes.
