Happy with our stay, after staying in 3 different hotels in perth over the years, I will come back to this one, for both price and comfort.

Nice hotel
close to the city, good service, decent swimming pool and spa
7.3
Rented out a few rooms for a nye/ny celebration with friends, staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were of good standard with a great layout. However the beds weren't the best, some had reasonable firmness others probably represented a hamick (slight exaggeration). Breakfast on new year day was sub-standard, half cooked eggs and still frozen hash browns made up part of their continental buffet (Hangover chef no doubt), however the 2nd day, breakfast was of good standard with no complaints.
Overall great value for money, well for Perth anyways, would recommend this hotel

Great Rooms and good Service
9
Checking In was fast and easy with minimal fuss. I like that it has valet parking so that my car is safe
The Rooms are clean and spacious, and with ours it had a great view over the Swan River
Very Centralize to the city for convenience and situated in a great walking area to the city centre

Pretty 'eh' all round
Discount rates not too bad for Perth, apparently...
6
the main thing was the shower. it seemed to be incapable of delivering a mix of both hot and cold water simmultaniously. look it wasn't the worst place in the world, but be prepared if you are using one of these discount sites; some of the staff think that you're really not worth they're time...

Small room but clean and quiet
Quietness yet not so far from down town.
6.7
Good for short-term staying - not so far from downtown (withing walking distances).

Great Location
Great location, comfortable & clean room (too bad for the paper-thin walls, we are giving room comfort a 3 rating because of this)
7.3
Good Things About Mercure :
1) Room is clean and comfortable with toiletries, hair dryer, ironing & coffee making facility, looks like quite newly renovated
2) Great location, a short walking distance to shopping streets and eating places
3) Courteous & professional staff, generally friendly and helpful. A guy from concierge (sorry, didn't get his name) was really pro-active in extending his assistance in getting a taxi for us
4) Good water pressure, rain shower was great
5) Even though located at CBD, it's not facing a busy road, thus traffic noise was not a problem though we stayed on the low floor (2nd floor only)
Not So Good Stuff....:
1) Our major grouse is the paper-thin walls, can hear the next room's casual conversation. Got worse when one couple next door.
2) In-room Wi-fi quite expensive, in my opinion. In many Asian cities, you generally get in-room free wi-fi at any good hotel
3) No bathrobe and slippers and the instant coffee packets are really of sub-standard quality
4) No complimentary drinking water
5) Slotted in room card that is supposed to allow us to control air-cond temperature....but doesn't seem to work at all (didn't really bother with it cos it was quite cold the few days we were there)
6) We stayed 4 nights. Housekeeping for most days were satisfactory, but there was one day, the housekeeping staff didn't do much and left the used towels and cups as they were......wonder why
7) Flat screen TV but a bit too small, and not many TV channels
Would be great if they can do something about the not-so-good things. Would still recommend this hotel for the location, generally decent service & comfortable room except if you are a light sleeper.
Enjoyed my stay overall.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You don't need to hire a car cause public transport is quite convenient in the city. Free CAT buses too. Unless you plan to go further to the national parks, the Pinnacles, etc. At the time we visited in Aug 2012, hiring a car costs slightly above AUD100.00 per day (plus taxes n insurance).

Walk away from Perth Concert Hall
Breakfast, service and clean room and toilet
7.3
Room was very modern although we didnt have the river view, it was still bright and lively. Very cosy at night...there is a decent gym but couldnt try the sauna.
Restaurant Tip:
Worth the walk to Toast cafe for breakfast on Claisebrook Cove, 20 minutes walk on a sunny day is worth the effort!

Great location nice hotel
Nice clean room, good service
9.3
a nice clean hotel with comfortable beds. strategic location in perth cbd area which made it very convenient to travel around the city area. only 5 minute walk to hay st mall & murray st mall. there are always taxis available on the taxi stand in front of the hotel. we would definitely stay there again on our next visit.
