the room was quite nice and quite clean.
i didn't think it was worth what we paid and we had to change rooms just after 11pm as there was a mouse in our room!!!!
the hotel was ok the major downfall was that there was a mouse in our room and we had to move rooms at 11pm! we were not offered any refund but we were changed straight away. the place was clean and the shower was good. it was quite far from the airport but it was fine. the restaurant was not great - don't get the steak! the staff were nice and overall it was fine.

The hotel is on a short cut to the airport and can get noisey at night
The hotel is cleen and is being up graded at present. Only 10min walk to rail station, 15min run into centre of Sydney

In industrial area. Felt unsafe. No amenities, e.g. proper restaurant, bookstores (newspapers). Food was expensive and not of good standard (cold, not fresh, service bad). Not welcoming, cold and old beverage cans, bottles and glasses where everywhere. Didn't feel clean. Expensive in line with city hotels and their services and service levels. Was expensive by cab from airport. $25. No feeling of experiencing warmth.
Travel tip : It was an overnight stay and didn't felt safe, clean or comfortable.

In short - select another hotel. It went wrong from the moment I called the hotel to be collected by the shuttle bus till the time the shuttle bus returned me to the airport the following day.

It is what it is. A basic room, handy for the airport. We stayed there because it was half the price of the city hotels when we had an early flight out.
Restaurant Tip : The food is very basic.

What You Pay For Is What You Get.
Stayed here some years ago, when it was under different ownership and not so tired and tatty-looking as it is now. Conveniently close to a Mercure hotel whose bar and restaurant are comfortable and open to non-rsidents (but it took 40 minutes to buy a round in their bar, with only three other people in it!) The nearby green space shown on maps is not accessible and makes the area look better than it is.

Considering how easy it turned out to be to get from the airport terminals into the city center and how cheap the train fare was, there is no reason at all to stay in this place just because it is close to the airport, especially since the price is ridiculously high for this low standard.

The breakfast is pathetic, and at $18.50, terrible value for money. You had to inspect your cups, cutlery, etc, to make sure they were clean. The staff did not move dirty plates until you left. To be fair to the hotel, the dining room is run separately.
Nightlife Tip : There are some nice little sports clubs in the area.

Were we being over-fussy? Well: In the five minutes that it took to check in and then promptly check ourselves out again, we saw a mother and daughter doing exactly the same and for the same reason. We also spoke to another lady who would have liked to leave but she had had a long fight from Canada and a missed connection and she didn't have the strength to go running around looking for another hotel. When we got to the Holiday Inn where we eventually had a most enjoyable stay and told the story, we didn't even have to name the hotel - they did that for us!

We pre-paid for two rooms which included breakfast and free shuttle to and from the airport. Upon arrival, we tried using airport phone to call for shuttle. We were told that the staff was too busy to pick up the phone at the time we dialed and therefor the shuttle bus driver did not know to pick us up. When we finally reached the hotel desk we were told that there were no more shuttles for the night and to take a taxi. When we tried to arrange for a return trip to the airport next morning we were told we had to pay $3.00 per person. When we showed them that our booking included free transportation, they refused to acknowledge it and DEMANDED that we pay or not go. When asked to speak to management we were given the run around and were told to write an e-mail to the management group. Needless to say, we did and are still waiting to hear back from someone, apologizing for the rudeness and incompetence of their staff.

This hotel is good if you want to have a cheap place to stay overnight, close to the airport, but don't expect much.
