We were happy with our stay.
Broken sink tap in room 655 the only minor problem.

Great place.
The Star is being renovated but the staff were great and relocated my room so I would not be inconvienced by the construction work. Meals are first class. Recommend it every time.

More 3* Motel than 4-5* Hotel
Arrived to extra $700 in surcharges (refundable at their leisure if no mini-bar etc used) undisclosed by either Agoda or Astral Residences itself even though they had had a phone conversation with me regarding additional charges for the roll out bed - one of the priciest on the market at $80 per night. It doesn't roll out either and only fits, fixed, in the living area between dining table and sparse living room seating. 2 bedroom residence on Level 12 very tired, old décor which went out with the 90's. Inadequate living room seating, ie. only 3 seats for 2 bedroom apartment. Sofa was so overused it dipped in the middle. 6 seater dining table but only 4 place settings in kitchen cupboard! Laundry door hanging off; both showers mouldy inside tiling and around floor and door tracks. Cigarette burn in net curtains even though non-smoking room. Every stick of furniture was scratched, chipped, stained, mismatched. Bedside table (only one for some reason) had bubbled where a glass had been left probably 10 years ago by the look of it. Carpets throughout hotel old and stained. Room service was great every day but there are no cleaning products known to man that can remove 20 odd years of use. Badly needs an upgrade and in colours other than brown! Staff were all very nice however and the location for Darling Harbour is great. Shame the inside of the Star doesn't match the outside or it's advertising.
