If you like boutique hotels with a minimalist approach to design, try the Blacket. Smart, and sizeable rooms without unecessary fittings and furnishings (but including a little kitchenette to help you with those takeaway meals) make a stay at the Blacket a worthwhile experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is well situated to take advantage of what Sydney has to offer. Close-enough to two railway stations and plenty of shopping and sight-seeing. Getting to connect to the internet is a slight hassle, having to wait for a cable and tricky usernames and passwords ... and some additional bathroom amenities could be included but these are minor points. Well worth a stay to avoid those big impersonal hotel experiences.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Plenty to see within walking distance including The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay and Sydney's fanstically preverved historic buildings. You don't need to bother too much taxis or other public transport to take-in all that the CDB has to offer - Sydney is far better by foot!
