The Highfield Private Hotel is a lovley budget accommodation situated in the bustling Kings Cross area which is an easy 15 minute walk from the Sydney CBD and a short stroll to beautiful Rushcutters Bay. Each room includes TV, coffee/tea maker, wireless Internet access, fan, bar sized refrigerator and ironing facilities. There are shared bathroom and shower facilities on each floor, and guests can also make use of the communal kitchen area which is fully equipped with a stove, microwave, kettle, refrigerator and toaster. Breakfast is served each morning in the hotel's dining room. For guests eager to explore areas other than Kings Cross, there are several public transportation options available. Kings Cross train station is located a five minute walk from the hotel, and trains operate regularly throughout the day towards the city and Bondi. There are also several bus stops nearby that travel to the surrounding suburbs. Everything the hotel does is centered around the guest' experience, ensuring comfort and relaxation.

Be sure to use back packs as luggage, as there are not elevators for carry your heavy bulky suitcase to your floor. There is a key deposit $20 that is refunded at check out.
Security gates with passcode, which is good.
Communal kitchen, small, can fit up to 6 people max. (Opens at 8am, but there is always delay)
Not enough utensils, plates for people who want breakfast.
Fresh milk and bread brought up from reception office each day, usually there is a delay.
Cereals (Weetbix, muesli and cornflakes) and condiments (Butter and margarine) are available.
Oven/Stove is in shocking condition, but it stove component still works. Oven doesnt... Paint has been rusted off on each heating element dial, so you don't know what temperature you are on. Hazard.
Kings Cross is a noisy, party/stripclubs central, so it is difficult to sleep at night with your windows open.
Towels and Sheets changed every 3 days, but they expect you to come forward with your dirty linen .
Bathrooms are adequate, the hot water comes and goes.
Generally the hotel is just old, paint is flaking off, bathroom tiles are stained, but everything is working.
Overall for the price you pay you expected a bit better, the backpackers near by look much better and modern and cleaner, so I recommend those places
On the side note, they do offer an airport shuttle service for $12 a person.
WARNING. Please leave about 3 hours before your flight, as the shuttles takes about 1.5hr to pick up other visitors from their hotels and goes to the domestic terminal first and then to the international terminal (4ks away from domestic), its cheap but you need lots of time. We weren't told this (thinking it would be a 30min trip) and had to change to a taxi ($70) mid journey

The first thing which appreciated is friendly and helpfull of reception. For the single room type, room size and all facilities in the room are good. The toilet should be renovated. Breakfast is ok but adding more food is better. The last thing is good location, close to King cross station (5 minutes walking), Cole supper market and 30-45 minutes to airport by Airport shuttel bus or Train at King cross station(link to airport line).
