I have travelled a lot and have stayed mainly at 5 star hotels. this was the first time a hotel did not offer complementary water in the room. upon enquiry at the reception desk, i was told to purchase it at the mini bar for $7.50 for a 500ml bottle of the cheapest water available.

What I liked:
Courteous, friendly and responsive staff
Cleanliness of the premises even with events taking place
Food at Glass
The room I was allocated for the one night stay – larger than other rooms in the hotel and great view of the QVB and George St.
What I did not like:
Rooms (walls and doors) were not soundproof – something has to be done about this.
I returned for an additional 4 days’ stay later on in the week. Did not like the mattresses used for single beds in the twin sharing rooms. Too small, old and lacked support.
Room for improvement:
Refinement to minor details such as the electrical setup in the rooms - a centralized switch system for the lights; an automated switch so that blinds can be adjusted with one touch of the switch.
