The award-winning hotel is one of Sydney’s gracefully restored heritage buildings. Built in 1872 by Dr. Fredrick Harrison Quaife as a family home, it was later converted to a hotel and lovingly restored to it’s former glory in 1992. The 36 rooms are decorated in Victorian grandeur, with arts and literature being the focal point of this boutique hotel. Situated in Sydney’s historical district between Woollahra and Paddington, The Hughenden is one of the many beautifully restored Victorian homes, more recently converted to art galleries, restaurants, bars and cafes in this vibrant and unique part of Sydney. A short three kilometers from the hotel lies the city center of Sydney, and within a walking distance are recommended attractions like the Centennial Parklands, Fox Studios, and numerous shopping, restaurants and art galleries. The Hughenden is also a pet friendly hotel, with dedicated rooms, pet washing facilities and easy access to Centennial Park.
Please note that the reception hours are from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Guests arriving outside these hours need to notify the hotel after making a booking. Contact details can be found on the booking confirmation. If guests arrive late, there is a doorbell by the front door that can be used to get assistance from the night porter.

The hotel was fine and the location fantastic. Although our room was very small and a double bed, we were ok with that as we were there only one night. Unfortunately I hardly slept - music from a nearby pub finished at 3am!!! and then there was loud talking and drinking til 5.30am. It totally ruined what was a fabulous get away weekend for us.
