It's an airport hotel and caters to customers who are transiting or need a roof over their heads to catch an early connecting flight.
That said, the rooms are clean but are very small.
No locks on the toilet.

I extended my stay for another 5 nights because of the very nice & helpful hotel staff. Ibis Sydney Airport has very good staff, but their management really need to improve the facilities /increase the number of staff. My friend /colleague needed to call the hotel number many times before someone picked up the phone and transferred the call to my room. Because the hotel staff had been too busy to answer calls... The noise control wasn't good. So I was often woken up early in the morning by guests /housekeeping… One light tube in the bath room was broken and kept flashing. But no one was able to help at night – all I wanted was just to take the light tube out. They did fix it the next morning...

the hotel is very close to the airport - both domestic & international airport. you may take a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel - cost aud6 only (while if you take a taxi, it costs around aud22). hotel staff are very nice and helpful.
however, i was really unhappy with their internet service. they have 2 internet plans - 2 hours & 24 hours. for the 24 hours plan, after you have reached 200mb, you will have the choice of paying aud0.10 per mb to transfer more data at maximum speed. i would say that, even within the first 200mb, their internet was unstable & slow enough. for the first few nights, i thought it was a 24 hours plan so didn't pay attention to the data usage. i only realized my huge internet bill on saturday morning - the worst was on friday night - aud80+ for the night. i complained to the hotel manager and he gave me 50% off on excess data usage... i really appreciated this. but i still think their 24 hours internet plan is very misleading. i suggest they rename these 2 plans as 100mb plan (valid for 2 hours) & 200mb plan (valid for 24 hours)... or, why not change their internet supplier? i am now staying at stamford airport hotel next door - for my 10 days stay, they offer me free and very stable internet.

i was surprised at how quiet the room was being so near to the airport and it made my one day stop easy as I had an early flight and could take the train into the city and look around for the day. service was very good and helpful
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
catch the train just down the street to the city, quick and inexpensive, take the shuttle to the airport, convenient and inexpensive

Friendly, helpful and courteous staff, taking time out to explain directions etc.
It would have been a little easier if there had been a table and a couple of chairs to sit on, but room was too small for that.
Very quiet location (surprisingly when it is so close to the airport).
Service in bar and resteraunt was excellent, nothing seemed to be a problem. Very pleasant indeed
Restaurant Tip:
If you didn't want to eat at hotel and don't have a car eating places are few and far between!

we arrived at 10.30 pm after a flight of 20 hours and waited for the shuttle bus to come and pick us up, as the reception had confirmed to me before leaving that i could wait for the bus just out of the airport. we waited for more than 30 minutes according to the time table i was given we should have taken the last bus of the day but it never arrived... so we had to catch a taxi at the end... when we arrived at the hotel we advised the boy at the reception about what had happen but he just did not comment and seemed not to care about this at all. i wish one day he will experience the same after 20 hours on a plane.
the room was so small we could hardly open two luggages, everything was covered with dust, even in the bathroom.
we were given just one shower towel each + one for the face & hands to share... really not the type of service a person would expect from the rates of the room..
the following morning we had to go back to the airport to pick up the car, we had to book for the shuttle bus the evening before but guess what... the bus that was fixed for 8.55 arrived at 9.25! girls, evidently too young to learn a little bit of education or politeness to client, have been quite rude in saying to me that i should be patient. ok, i can be patient but i want pay the same rate that i pay for a very good 4 stars hotel in the centre of sydney... never back again.
