Food, proximity to airport

Room service should be advertised

For the most part all is ok, need more free to air tv channels or a complementary movie for free on a confirmed booking. i know i am possibly being a little unrealistic but if you can give guests a complementary movie, level of service would go up. and the choice should be from any category on the list. you should advertise room services as part of the menu. items on the menu should be available at any time of the day.. i.e. been able to order a breakfast meal at 5pm in the afternoon would be nice too.

Proximity to Sydney Airport. Reasonable rates.

None

Whilst not top of the range hotel it is well located on O'Riordan Street Mascot in close proximity to Sydney Airport particularly if connecting flights are a day apart. On this occasion my international flight landed at the same time the last flight for my home town took off and I had to wait for a flight the next day. The hotel shuttle service is relatively inexpensive and runs at good regular intervals. Rooms are clean and tidy although directed at the budget clientele. Restaurant is clean and well presented with staff attentive and responsive. Would recommend to anyone requiring over night accommodation close to Sydney Airport

Hotel Feature Tip : Close and convenient to Sydney Airport

Proximity to the airport at Sydney International.

Transport to the airport

I found the restaurant choice was very limited but the food was good. A bigger range of food choice would have been nice after arriving tired and not wanting to go out. The transport system was very poor. We had booked the evening before and with the early 8am pick up, the bus was full. Told another bus was on the way and we then had to wait for the previous bus to return for our pick up with no concern from the staff driver. Surely the booking office knows how many tickets are sold for each journey. Next time would take the taxi.

Sound deadening was excellent allowing good sleep without having to leave airport precinct. Free shuttle mandatory for me aged 75.

I could not say that I would have asked for anything more than IBIS has.

For the traveller from Overseas travelling on to Adelaide -or- for the Adelaide traveller departing for overseas the IBIS has all the necessary requirements. The free transfer shuttle is the most important aspect that I look for when booking a room on transferring from Domestic to International - for an interstater this is a big worry hurdle to overcome. I would not hestitate to recommend the IBIS to my friends.

Hotel Feature Tip : book your transfer to airport at check-in and do not be late for the shuttle bus - specially in a dust storm. Four million tons of dust from S.A.

Very near the airport. It was the cheapest Taxi fair we paid from the airport in Australia. It was clean.

The room wasn't just small, it was tiny. The room available was so small that I could barely fit to see what was in my open suitcase. Both of the receptionist we got were rude and standofish compared to all other receptionist in the rest of the hotels we were in Australia. The walls were paper thin. We could hear everything that was going on in other rooms and in the hall.

Only stay there because you have to because it is clean and near the airport, but do not expect kind treatment. I lost my hat in a restaurant and when we came back to request if David the recepetionist could call the restaurant for us so that we could perhaps go back to pick it up, he almost didn't do it and when he did, not only he had called the wrong restaurant, but he had totally forgotten to follow up with us as he had mentioned. I do not remember the name of the initial receptionist when we checked in, but she also had an attitude problem.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Airport Metro Station is only a few blocks away.

Close to the airport, great cocktails.

none

We arrived at the Ibis and were quickly checked in. We were given a non smoking room but when we entered you could smell smoke. Straight away we were given another room. The rooms are not huge but are well designed and decorated. The bathroom is very cute. We were able to settle back into the cocktail area in lovely leather lounges. Overall it was just what we needed.

Close to airport

Hard to find shuttle bus

After quite an ordeal to find the shuttle bus that would take us to the Ibis, we arrived to staff that were on the ball. Check in was quick and in no time we were settled and having cocktails in the lovely dining area. In the morning the shuttle bus was right there on time to take us back to the airport. Good service.

While the hotel is close to the airport, it is not really within walking distance with luggage; hence there is a taxi fare to consider.

Rooms are small, basic and the aircon register tells lies; I was extremely hot @ 17 degrees.

The room was way too hot plus the room size, amenities and state of repair are not commensurate with the cost unfortunately. Only three pillows were available for a double room which is strange. The eating areas are not enticing and are cheek by jowl with the reception area which closely abuts the lift area. All of this makes for a very crowded public area.

Very friendly staff at Reception and in the restaurant; the bus from the airport was timely; I liked the fact that I could pick up my own room service meal at the restaurant, and the food was delicious and well-priced.

It is crowded near the Reception desk and lifts, and there was no shower cap in the bathroom. The Sydney airport securiy staff were friendly and had a presence, but the shuttle bus pick-up area was dark and isolated.

The circular bathroom is distinctive. I could remember staying at this hotel previously, and that's a nice, comforting feeling when you're travelling alone. The room was clean and fresh, and I felt very comfortable eating a delicious and elegant vegetable stack from the restaurant while kicking back and enjoying watching the second Ashes test on television.

close to mascot railway station and to sydney and the airport.modern and clean and room is well outfitted

room slightly small with limited areas to place suitcases in the room

the hotel is very close to sydney airport and also a short walk to mascot railway station with only a few stops to center of sydney.the immediate area around the hotel is not close to corner stores so you are a captive client as regards getting a snack from a nearby shop. buffet breakfast is $15 but we were informed that this was reduced to $10 if you booked for breakfast online when booking, otherwise the buffet for breakfast was good and well presented.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : easy to access sydney by rail which is a short walk away

clean and tidy and close to the airport.only a short walk to mascot station and close to the city

slightly small room which takes some thought re luggage placement. area is somewhat isolated with corner stores etc some distance away.

we were unable to get continental breakfast or merely a cup of coffee and toast, but the full buffet breakfast was good.Cost of $17 was not unreasonable but we were informed that if we had ordered breakfast on line when booking, cost would only be $10 each person.shuttle service to airport was ok at $6,not $5 as advertised but airport charges obviously increase regularly

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : short train trip to the city and close to the airport

Cleanliness, close proximity to the airport, convenient and relaxed atmosphere.

Some of the staff were not polite (bordering on rudeness), breakfast menu was predictable,

The hotel is clean and comfortable and is in close proximity to the airport, which makes it handy for transit travelers. The front desk staff were professional, but the person in charge of the restaurant (on the last couple of days of stay) was very unprofessional and rude in her approach. I found that the hotel was convenient for my work and sojourn in Sydney. I did not receive a statement of accounts upon checkout and was in too much of a hurry to request one. It would have been good, if this was given, without having to specifically request it. But the staff at the front desk was very pleasant and professional. All in all, I enjoyed my stay, except for the attitude of the restaurant maitre'd and I would gladly come back again, if there was a need for me to be in Sydney.
