Average hostel in a great location

Okay, it's a hostel so I'm bearing this in mind when reviewing.
- Room and bedding was very tired but not the worst we have stayed in. Saw two cockroaches but had become used to this travelling across Oz on a budget. Slight irritation that the hotel staff had no bug spray when I asked them about it (carry your own if you're travelling!).
- Shared bathroom facilities. Some were very clean others were not looked after. You may have to walk a little to find the best toilet facilities.
- Staff. I'm sure every hotel has a good cop/bad cop routine going. Day lady was lovely and chatty. Night chap looked like he wanted to kill you!
- Internet is good and quick but costly.
Versus the amount we paid I don't feel ripped off by the hotel (just by Oz in general!)

Close location to the beach and restaurants

The hotel staff was not very friendly. I had problems with the Internet and the man at the front desk was very rude about helping me figure out why my Internet connection wasn't working. The room was very small and stuffy. No air conditioning, just a fan. Although the fan didn't help with how stuffy and hot the room was. The bathrooms were very dirty. Even saw a cockroach in one. We only liked the location of this hostel.

About a 10 minute walk to Bondi Beach.
