Food, Drink and Entertainment
Galileo Resturant French style with the delights of a tantalising Japanese influence set in an atmosphere reminiscent of London’s famous Venetian restaurant, Harry’s Bar. Richly appointed with antiques, fine tapestries and polished walnut furniture, Galileo combines quiet elegance with the relaxed informality of a typical Sydney restaurant. Arno caricatures and skeches from early editions of Vogue Magazine, courtesy of the famous Harry's Bar, cover the Fortuny silk and cedar clad walls, providing a perfect backdrop for the 17th-century leather, Venetian dividing screen and the highly polished parquet floor.
Globe Bar And Bistro Furnished with lush, velvet sofas and leather wing armchairs, and featuring a long, marble-topped bar flanked by soft green leather bar stools, green and gold table lamps adorn the polished mahogany side tables, while a large, hand-tufted rug covers the honed, sandstone-coloured marble floor. The Bar's cedar-panelled walls feature original oils depicting scenes of Captain Cook and his voyage around Australia, evoking a mood of travel and adventure from a bygone era.

Fabulous indoor pool and spa area.
Knowledgeable and helpful Staff and Concierge services.
Beautiful rooms with a spacious bathroom
Heated towel racks.
Double sink
My only Con and it's not high on the importance list, but they still used tube televisions. I would recommend upgrading to Flat screen televisions in the room, but I understand why they haven't. The televisions are stored in the Armoire.
This hotel was fabulous. Especially for the rate offered through Agoda. This hotel is owned by the 'Mandarin Orient'. All facets of the hotel were top notch.
The rooms were spacious and elegantly designed. The bathroom was equally spacious, his & her sinks, a multi-head stand-up shower as well as a heated towel rack.
The hotel is located down the street from the Lord Nelson Brewery and convenient to many locations, if you don't mind walking.
I found the concierge service to be outstanding and very helpful. This may not seem important, but the concierge stored additional umbrellas in their area for rainy days. They offered us one to take with us as we were out and about on a somewhat less than perfect day.
We experience a wonderful meal in the Observatory's restaurant. However, I would suggest a reservation for an evening sitting.
Restaurant Tip : If you enjoy Thai food, please try the "Sailor Thai" restaurant in the Rocks. You will not be disappointed.

This is a stylish hotel, beautifully decorated with a great restaurant. Great service and concierge. I liked that it is in the rocks, just next to the Observatory, walking distance to the Bridge Climb, Opera house and many interesting restaurants, stores and bars, while simultaneously feeling "residential". I also liked that it is not part of a large chain, it is relatively small but not too small. Beautiful large rooms and bathrooms.
Hard to identify weaknesses to this hotel. The only minor thing is that they could have left a piece of chocolate with the turn down service which was nice.

Make sure to have breakfast and dinner at the hotel as the food is wonderful and the atmomphere elegant.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the steps up the hill across from the hotel to visit the Observatory Hill and enjoy the view, and then descend down the other side to do the Bridge Climb. You can also walk to the Opera House through an area full of restaurants.

This was the ideal hotel for my wife and me. The staff made us feel immediately at home the moment we walked through the front door. The rooms are superbly furnished and extremely comfortable.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Bridge Climb and Opera House (go to a concert).
Eating Tip - Fish at the Rocks on the same road as the Hotel.
