Right in the middle of Sydney, very convenient to walk to attractions or catch public transport. Popular restaurants just downstairs
Somewhat run-down and old rooms and facilities.
The hotel itself was very easy to get to from the airport. It is very well-located with lots of attractions nearby accessible by foot or public transport. The hotel itself is quite nice, with refurbished restuarants and lobbies. However, the rooms are very run-down!
My room had lots of cobwebs on the ceiling and walls- GROSS! Their "DREAM BEDS" weren't as comfortable as I imagined. Pillows were bad! Too soft...felt like I didn't have a pillow at all. No Slippers supplied.
Service was prompt and friendly.
All in all, I don't think it was worth it but if it was cheaper, I would stay there again for the location.
Restaurant Tip : Take the airport train to Museum Station. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from there.
Try the japanese sushi train restaurant right beneath the hotel for a fresh and wide selection of fish. Not cheap, but reasonable.

Our three person room was not ready for three people then when we asked for the third bed to be removed and queen seperated that took a second call.
The reception people were at times obstructive. We were asked to show a copy of our booking, which we only had on our computer, and told we would have to make choices of new rates for three people.I continued to insist that they had acopy of our booking with agoda but they said not.On the fourth day of our stay upon further insistence,it appeared, afer i pulled up on my computer.Very unsatisfactory at the desk
Travel tip : Shopping is very handy

What a fabulous place to stay. We had a weekend get away and I don't think we could have been more central. Monorail at the doorstep, Supermaket on the corner. The full english breakfast special kept us full all day for shopping at Paddy's Market only a 10 minute walk away. I would recommend this Hotel definately. OK the rooms are not huge, but we didn't want to dance in it...

Hotel is in the busiest, most vibrant district in Sydney, with lots of restaurants and shopping venues just at the door. It is very convenient and easily accessible to Chinatown, Darling Harbor and train stations. The hotel room is spacious and comfortable.
One advice is to differentiate the color between "Please Make Up Room" and "Do Not Disturb" door tag, so that staff can distinguish easily and act accordingly.
We will surely come back to Rydges World Square in our return visit to Sydney.

Being so close to monorail, shopping centre with supermarket out the hotel door and cafe's within walking distance with wonderful coffee's and breakfasts!!
Some of the general housekeeping - but minor really
Very friendly and helpful reception staff. We had the family room and this was just what we required. Air conditioning and heating in the rooms were well functioning. The beds were extremely comfortable giving all a good night's sleep! Being so close to the central city with shops beside and all around the hotel is a bonus.

Friendly and helpful staff
Too inflexible about Check out allowances for late flights
I found the hotel to be pretty much the same standard as its equivalents in the USA, Canada and Europe but better than most (that I have been to) in South and Central America in terms of cleanliness and room appearance and space.

The hotel is very accessible with the monorail just by the door step.
Room a little small. Couldn't get a room until 3pm. Renovation ongoing on the floor we were in.
Stayed for 5 days from September 23 to 28, staff were accomodating...although due to ongoing renovations, the floor we stayed in smelled like paint. Would consider staying there again though given the central location...especially good for first time visitors to Sydney, as it is close to everything - Darling Harbour by Monorail, Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House and the Rocks by the CBD bus, which is free after rush hour in the morning and afternoon.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the free CBD bus 555 to get around the city for free.

Excellent location. Just in the city center & a monorail is just at its entrance. Easy walking distance to the chinatown. Very clean and spacious room. We can get a big supermarket just next to the hotel... Very nice hotel overall
The hotel was very good and located in the heart of the downtown. Will stay here again.

Just outside of Chinatown, on the lite rail line, attached to a mall (with a grocery store)
no connecting rooms, no free internet, not much drawer/dresser space, rooms small-ish though typical
They don't have connecting rooms but were able to put our (2) rooms side by side. Check in was fast and efficient, though it seemed the check-in girls were not too happy with thier jobs. Although it looks bland from the outside, the rooms were very decent (considering the price we paid), clean, beds/sheets comfortable, bathroom decent size with seperate shower and tub (made for easy laundering of clothes), safe, good enough TV with nice selection of channels. We were on the 5th floor, street side, and didn't hear any noise at all (there was a club right below our window). 1 1/2 block outside of Chinatown. Metro rail stops just outside the building.
Restaurant Tip : Grocery store basement level, ton's of Asian dining on the same block, try especially the Korean BBQ joint that's across Liverpool street on the 2nd level (can't remember the name) but it's always packed in the evening (go around 5pm or stand for about a 30 minute wait

Great location, clean and tidy room with large bathroom and comfortable bed
The hotel is well located for traveller and first time visitor, only 1 block away from Museum station, making it very easy to reach from the airport, and a short walk to shopping centre, chinatown and darling harbour, also you will find there are lots of restaurants just outside the hotel and nearby. The room was spacious with very comfortable bed and large bathroom. It was a pleasent stay and we will definitely go back again

Location in the heart of Sydney
Room style and amenities very good
Courteous service
Too few people working at the cocktail lounge, resulting in very slow service -- even semi-self-service. (Maybe just on the night we went?)
A Japanese friend recommended Rydges hotels generally, and so I tried the one at the World Center in Sydney, near Chinatown. I got a good rate through Agoda, and found the location, room, amenities, and service very good. (With the exception of the cocktail lounge service -- perhaps a couple of people had called in sick, since the people working there were very much overburdened and could not quite handle to large number of customers.) I would definitely use Agoda again to reserve rooms, and stay at Rydges hotels. It was a good experience.

Good value, clean and tidy, good gym
terrible internet service
A good hotel with a central location which makes it convenient to the CBD. I arrived very early in the morning however was still able to check into my room which was very much appreciated. The hotel had good facilities apart from the internet connection which was worse than useless, and not befitting a 4 star hotel close to the business district

The great location, valet parking and with monorail at its entrance.
stayed there many times but one time they put us in a disabled room.
Staying at the Ryges World Square presents many attractive benefits like the friendly and effecient service, great location, with monorail right in front of its entrance and fantastic shops and eateries around. Also with supermarkets and chemists in the ground floor of the complex. An excellent choice for small families or business travellers.in.
Travel tip : You can hop onto minirail and travelled around city instead of walking.
