The most romantic setting on Sydney Harbour

No night time on street parking

A great experience, preserving one of Sydney's old wharf buildings and reincarnating it as a wonderful hotel. Comfortable rooms, make sure you get a harbour view, interesting bar area with a glass floor panel to see the harbour without getting wet. Close to the Sydney Theater Company and the Sydney Dance Theater, where you will also find one of Sydney's hidden treasures - the Wharf Restaurant. Certainly a great hotel in a great location.

Restaurant Tip : As mentioned, the Wharf Restaurant in the Sydney Theater Company Pier 4, Hickson Road, Walsh Bay is run by Tim Pak-Poy, who used to own Claudes Restaurant - this has the same quality of food and the views are superb.

Proximity to the Bridge, Opera House, The Rocks and just general downtown Sydney. Friendly and helpful staff

Expensive daily parking, small entry foyer area for such a large number of guests.

I love staying at the Sebel Pier One in Sydney as it has a friendly atmosphere with great views of the harbour and the bridge. It's proximity to Sydney's famous sights and scenery, along with access to all modes of transportation make it ideal to get around without needing a car.

1. Super convenient location to main attractions 2. Breakfast buffet appeared well presented

1. Bed and pillows "rock hard". 2. Housekeeping...prior to heading of for early morning tour of Opera House left notice on door "Please make up Room"...returned 4/5 hours later..nothing done. Prior to going out again, we wanted the use of room for next couple of hours. The room remained unmade all day, albeit we had again placed the "Please make up room" whilst we went out for another 7/8 hours.

Sebel Pier One having previously been a historic warehouse is now converted to a modern hotel which enjoys a very unique location. Situated right on the harbour and built partially over water it offers an "up close and personal" interaction with the comings and goings of harbour life. Sydney's best known attractions - Harbour Bridge and Opera House are relatively on the doorstep. Prior to arriving in Sydney, we had organised to make the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb. From our hotel window we were interested to observe several groups of climbers setting out on their respective climbs, so we were able to get a "feel" for what we would be undertaking later. The bridge climb is highly recommended. It was amazing! Additionally, the hotel is an easy stroll to the ferries leaving from Circular Quay and reasonably close if you choose walk into the CBD, around the Rocks, etc.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Prior to arriving in Sydney, we had organised to make the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb. From our hotel window we were interested to observe several groups of climbers setting out on their respective climbs, so we got a "feel" for what we would be undertaking later. The bridge climb is highly recommended. It was amazing! The early morning Opera House backstage tour(including breakfast) is also very worthwhile.
