Location good, near cityrail station.
Room clean and big. Stayed 5 nights in this hotel when i am in sydney in May 2009. The room is clean and big. Feel comfortable. But for me the pillow is too thin to sleep on. Service is good. I arrived at 6am and they allowed me to check-in also. Location is near Martin place station. Good for budget and good location hotel.

Convenient location, clean, friendly staff, reasonably priced, quiet & comfortable room. The restaurant in the hotel closed a bit early and the offerings were a little skimpy. We enjoyed our stay @ Travelodge Phillip Street. It was clean and quiet with a very friendly staff. The location was close to Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House, Hyde Park and the Sydney CBD. The price was reasonable and we were very pleased overall.

Location; service; amenities; decor I found every aspect of this hotel extremely convenient- the ideal location (near two train stops, walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Royal Botanical Gardens), the service and amenities made everything just a bit easier so that I could focus all the more on enjoying my trip. I thought it was lovely to have microwaves in each room with frozen meals available at all hours at the front desk. I appreciated the simple decor and found it to be comfortable and relaxing. I very highly recommend this hotel for travel and business trip accommodations.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walking distance to the Royal Botanical Gardens (and Opera House), near Martin Place Station and St. James Station (St. James will take you directly to and from the airport).

We stayed at the Phillips Street Travel lodge because of its location to sites in Sydney, and the very low price of lodging. We then again stayed at this hotel on our return from a side trip to the Hunter Valley to attend a Wedding and were again very pleased with the service and accommodations provided. The reception staff was extremely friendly and personal. I will remember this service for a long time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure you review with the hotel staff north south east and west before heading out.

Shopping Tip : Must visit the QVB and always bring rain gear as you never know.

Train from the airport stops at St. James Station, 100 meters away from the hotel. Use exit MacQuariestreet, is the nearest way to hotel.If you don't want to have breakfast (08.00 - 09.30 am, from AU$ 6,50 to 14,50)in the hotel, there are plenty other places nearby.
