decent hotel

this hotel is ok. clean rooms, nice staff, and a decent breakfast. note: breakfast was not included for me, so i had to buy that as a separate thing each morning. check this, before you leave, so that you are prepared.
Shopping Tip:
best places for buying real, australian high-quality opals are:
a) paddy's market, basement level, merchant number 515 (there are yellow numbers on the concrete floor infront of each merchant). i bought a nice pendant from this merchant (it's a couple that sells opals).
b) australian opal cutters. in the centre, in the junction between pitt street and park street. i bought a nice set of earrings from them.
just explain that you want quality but you cannot afford the top-range, most expensive stuff. once you found something that you want to buy, just ask "is this the best price you can give me?" or "is it possible to get a little more discount?". i cannot guarantee anything ofc, but i think it will work and that you will get a new, and lower price.

a small boutique hotel that is close to the university and local shops. away from the city bustle but within walking distance to restaurants, movies and local attractions. the hotel is elegant and rooms are comfortable. tiny bathrooms but quality soaps & shampoo provided. breakfast was a highlight... great coffee and variety of hot & cold dishes (a la carte). a great way to start the day. i have stayed there many times

on arrival i was greeted with a smile and friendly competent service.
i found my room clean and tidy. there were extra pillows and plenty of warm bedding
the tv remote worked well [ batteries not flat ] and plenty of coffee , sugar and tea if you wished to make yourself.
the internet service worked well and was cheap
taxi / cabs are easy to get from this hotel. the sydney exhibition centre and conference centre is within a 30 minute walking distance. there are some quality restaurants nearby / within a 5 minute walk.

service with a smile but renovation not complete
I liked that the staff was friendly and helpful, that the rooms were not sprayed with deodorizing "room freshener" perfumes, and that the hotel interior was smoke free.

This is my first experience with a "botique hotel." I found the small venue and personal service pleasant. It was quiet as advertised. The neighborhood was quiet and it was within 15 minutes walk of Chinatown, Darling Harbour and close to the monorail, which is a great way to get around the downtown area. As soon as they finish renovating the room I was staying in I would have no criticism at all. Would consider staying there again.

This is a nice small boutique hotel with 40 plus rooms. Only ten minutes walk toMonorail station, Convention center and darling harbor. Room is nice neat and clean. In room facilities are just adequate.This hotel may not be good to hang aroung all day but it's just perfect for business trip or holiday that spending most time out there. Staffs are helpful and friendly. Too bad they will only available form 8am to 10pm only.
