Can't be beaten for location - a walking distance from almost everywhere, and a metro station on the other side of the street. Friendly reception, pretty quiet, no smelly bad-backpacker guest types. As clean and tidy as could be expected for that kind of a price. 24 hour easy access for guests.
Deluxe room extra smallish - kept stumbling over my bag. Poor water pressure; kept me in the shower forever. Breakfast declared, but virtually non-existent (not that I really minded, with so many superb dining options around!). Walls in the room painted in dull gray.
Would definitely recommend as a convenient inexpensive option for someone not too fussy and demanding. Not a place to remember with a "wow", but also not the one to complain too much about. A nice compromise between a backpacker lodge and a proper hotel, located across a wonderful park, right near the main shopping street and close to all the attractions in Sydney.

Checked in... tried to find bathroom which their wasnt. It a communal bathroom down the hall . Weent downstairs to ask if there had been a mistake... which they assurred me their wasnt so without even staying I checked out.
This is not the hotel for business travellers and should be avoided unless you are a backpacker
Hotel Feature Tip : Its a pretty grotty area where the hotel is located.

I stayed in a deluxe double room, the en suite bathroom is very clean
breakfast, how come there's no muesli for 2 days?!
Shopping Tip : Buy souvenir at Woolworths. To me, Australian made Tim Tam, macadamia, oat bars etc. are always better than something like koala dolls or kangaroo wallets made in China.

Booked room with bathroom got shared facilities had were very old fashioned. Room smelled of damp.
Disappointed we were unable to check in when arrived slightly early as we have been travelling for over a day and have never found an early check in a problem in other hotels in Sydney! Reception area is very nice and gives a false impression of now old and damp the rooms. Only stayed 2 nights if we had booked longer we would have looked elsewhere.

Good location near the city centre.
The hotel is near the city centre and is convenience for shopping and dining, whcih takes about 10-15 minutes walk. I have booked the traditional room for five days, and I was shocked that there was no bathroom in my room. That means, I have to use the public bathroom! What a memorable holiday!!! I won't stay in this hotel again and absolutely not to recommend it to my friends.

Comfortable room, clean bathrooms, good breakfast,
very courteous staff.
We enjoyed our overnight stay at the Y and would not hesitate booking in there again. We found the staff very courteous and helpful and were impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel both in the room, the bathrooms, and the entrance foyer as well as the dining area. We would not hesitate to recommend the Y Hyde Park Hotel to others.

Value for money, comfortable well equipped single room, breakfast included.
I stayed in this hotel as it was the cheapest available hotel with just a single room I could find close to the CBD. It is probably about a 30 min. walk to Circular Quay. It is just off a main road with lots of food outlets and nightlife. I didn’t notice any noise from the street or the neighbors which is good as I needed silence to sleep! My room was very clean and equipped with TV, iron and ironing board. Very comfortable room ideal for a single person. Great value with breakfast.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : From the airport, get off the train at station Museum for a short walk to the hotel.

The location is great. It is very close to downtown, and you can walk to everywhere. It is clean, and neat. Staff is very friendly. For the price, it is a great deal. You can definetely stay.
I stayed in a standard single room, then the bathroom was shared. The bathrooms were clean, so it was okay to use it for short stay.
Definetely you should consider staying here if you are looking for a budget hotel in a central location. It is a very good deal.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visit Mrs. Mrs. Macquaries chair. It has an amazing view.

It was quite a pleasant and nice place to stay.
It is near to the city and you can access a lot
of places and facilities nearby.I had a great time there. It is highly recommended for an overnight stay or holiday by visitors to the city.
The breakfast included in the price of room was really nice...had a nice breakfast in the morning during my stay.Highly recommended.
Room was a bit small. Not enough milk in the fridge for a cuppa. The room was also a bit small but apart from that all ok.
The Y Hyde park hotel is a nice place and had a great stay.Nice location, close to city.Had a car
parking place nearby to park car....plus also affordable/discounted.The food in the Bristo / bar
was nice and included in the price. For an overnight stay in the City of Sydney....Highly recommend to travelers
over the world. Will stay again for sure.
Mark.
Shopping Tip : Leave your car nearby in Wilson car parking so you can shop all over the centre of Sydney and pay
only a small amount without having the stress to find parking.

Hotel room and bathroom are very tidy. Transportation is very convenient (1 min. to MUSEUM station by walk).
Some of the hotel staff are not friendly. It's a little bit noisy if you stay there on Friday night.
If you'd like budgetary, safe and convenient stay in Sydney, you can try Y Hyde Park Hotel Sydney. It's 24 hours for check-in and security. The accommodation includes breakfast, so you can save your money. The public transportation is very convenient around this hotel. The hotel also provide shuttle bus to the airport, only cost AUD$12, but it'll take 40~60 minutes to get there.

We appreciated the situation of the YWCA hotel next to Hyde Park for a walk and the proximity of the shopping streets . We enjoyed the short bus drive to go to the Rocks and the Opera House in the evening + the advice provided by the staff
a "traditional room" has no personal bathroom : something to be known for foreigners .
The YWCA hotel is perfect to enjoy Sydney center and shopping area ; have a walk in Hyde Park or catch a bus to attend a performance at the Opera house in the evening : all that in 10mns !You will be satisfied by the staff's advice when in need .
It was a positive discovery to use AGODA services

near transportation(Bus, metropolitan), near china town (can find food late at night),near park (very beautiful park), good reasonable price, WiFi available (but charge)
small room, not enough internet package, no drinking water supply, should have more variety for breakfast (should have fruits, sausages).
It's a good place to stay in Sydney. Not expensive, good reasonable price.N ear transportation (bus, metro). Near china town (I can find food late at night), near park (very beautiful park), WiFi available (but at a charge). But the room is quite small. and make sure that your room has a private bathroom if you want because there are shared bathrooms too. The breakfast has too little variety but it's okay.
Restaurant Tip : From the hotel, turn left along Liverpool street. You can find a lot of good Asian restaurants which open till late at night. And there are a lot of minimarts open late at night too.

The room is very small. The washroom is outside the room. Free breakfast is provided. The staff are nice. The baggage store room is very small and not well secured. People put in and take away the baggage themselves though the room is locked. The location is a bit far away from the train station.

central in Sydney. can walk into downtown. close to buses and trains. clean comfortable rooms. helpful friendly staff. good breakfast included.
I have stayed at Y on the Park (Y Hyde Park now) this year and in 1999. It was excellent in 1999 and has improved again. It's convenience for visiting Sydney sights by foot, bus and train is unsurpassable. The rates are very reasonable for all types of accommodation and the en-suite rooms are hotel standard - quiet and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast is self service cereal and toast included and for a bit extra a cooked breakfast. The staff are well informed, helpful and friendly and you can store your luggage before check in or after check out. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Sydney. Highly recommendable.

Great breakfast, helpful staff.
Storage of suitcases. We left ours because we were checking out in a few hours and went for a walk. We came back to find them buried under all the suitcases of the people who had arrived before room were ready. We had to remove and return over 20 bags and suitcases
Overall the hotel was good, great location when we found out how the buses ran. The room were basic but clean. Hallways were looking a little tired. The breakfast was really good. We had cereal, toast, fruit juices and coffee and no limit to how much. The staff were also very helpful with direction and any information we required. We would stay there again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Get info on buses the minute you arrive, saves your legs. And don't forget to walk the bridge. Fantastic experience
