The room was clean and was cleaned everyday and the toilets are clean as well. The day front desk staff were very polite despite being busy. The night front desk staff weren't too friendly. Overalll I was satisfied with my stay at the Y Hotel and would certainly recommend it to others.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The location of the hotel is great and you can actually walk all the way to the Opera HOuse and Circular Quay. A morning walk through Hyde Park and the Botanic garden was refreshing!

secure,handy to museum station for direct link train to airport.Good breakfast included.Free newspapers. We had 1 bad night due to very noisy group who had access to our balcony and partied all night, banging on our door etc.
Hotel staff moved us the next morning to a very nice quiet room with king size bed.Otherwise everything else was good.This is our 3rd visit and would recommend it.
Restaurant Tip : GREAT CHEAP INDIAN FOOD ROUND THE CORNER IN OXFORD ST

I was able to check in early after a long flight from the UK.
Breakfast included - good value. Room was clean and more than adequate. Excellent location - recommend airshuttle service as Museum Station has no lift. Ideal for Oxford Road and City. Internet access, tea and coffee facilities. Not really a con however shower, toilet and bathing facilities are communal - however are clean.
Decor could (in time) do with up date. I would certainly stay at this hotel again. Great location near the CBD Sydney. The staff were friendly and helpful - available on hand 24 hours a day. Rooms were tidy and clean - boutique. Breakfast was included and good value. A mixture of clientelle - old and young. Internet facilities - however there is an internet shop close by. Approximately 20 mins by train from airport and 5 mins from the Museum Station (ok for backpackers, not suitcases as no lift) however airshuttle is good value at 14 AUD.

Staff, is just not meet the standard.
For example, I was wanted to extend my stay one more night, Front staff (Morning shift) gave me the price a price, on the other hand, (Night shift gave me an even higher price for the same type of room. He said this period is very busy time so we can sell the room up to maximum price "and if you don't want to pay much like that you have to find another hotel". In my point of view, the room is good and clean, and good location but not reasonable price. It will be good if they can deduct 15-20% of the price. And one more important thing, it is just about staff, they must be in standard that means every staff should give the same informations to every customers. And the staff should be more helpful rather than just sit down and said "I don't know" and point the finger to the board and you have to read it of find it by yourself.

The beds were comfortable and the showers and tolilets were kept very clean There was a bad smell in our room We enjoyed my stay in the Y Hyde Park Hotel. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space in our room. The was however a strange smell in our room which the only bad thing about this hotel. The staff were very nice to us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider going back there again.

The price was reasonable. dirty, smelly, dingy, tiny rooms, uncomfortable. The hotel smells, and I mean really smells - bad! It smells like mold, mildew, cigarette smoke and other unpleasant odors. It's rooms are small and uncomfortable. It's really run down and dingy now. I would not recommend this dump to anyone!

The Best Location, Super Clean, Extremely Friendly Staff & Fantastic Value Breakfast Left More to Desire The Y @ Hyde Park was perfect for our stay in Sydney. It had the best location, it was super clean, had an extremely friendly staff and an over all fantastic value. Its located right in the middle of all that Sydney has to offer for a 10 day stay. The walked to all adjoining neighborhoods with in 10 minutes & the Opera House in 20 minutes. 20 minute bus to Bondi Beach.

Good location - close to China Town, Sussex Street and Oxford Street. In other words, you can get access to shopping, food and nightlife very easily. The room is very small. Just enough for the bed and a small desk. TV is stored inside the cabinet to save place. There is no toilet inside in my room type. Considering the price and location, one can't complain too much. However, I may choice to upgrade the room with a private toilet if I have a chance to stay there again. It is not very convenient to share a common toilet with just one shower room.

The location is good. It's close to a bus stop and a train station. The bathroom is shared and the room is small. With the price, I can't complain more. The location is good. I can walk to China town within 10 mins and I can take either a bus or a train to everywhere. The receptionists are very helpful. You can ask for the info you need and they can also arrange tours for you to Blue Mountain, Hunter Valley and stuff. If you don't mind the shared bathroom, then you can consider staying here.
