The central courtyard of the hotel provides guests with a shady haven to relax with a cold drink, meet other guests, and take advantage of the generous in-ground swimming pool. Nearby Uluru is best appreciated at either end of the sweltering hot days, sunrise over the rock for the early- risers, or the stunning color changes during sunset, neither to be missed! Closeness to shopping center Attentive, helpful conscientious reception staff

weird layout, with only windows in toilet and shower area. poor maintenance. dirty, worn furniture in lobby. Pool needed repainting.

You don't have a lot of choice at Ayers Rock as a single company, Voyages, owns the franchise. The Lost Camel provides a less expensive, but barely adequate room with questionable cleanliness. And the local restaurant, Gecko's, doesn't deliver very good food or value. But you come here to see Ayer's Rock (and the Olga's), so you accept the downside. On the plus side, the hotel staff were exceptionally helpful.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The tour center is very close to the hotel and it is much easier to pick a tour by talking to each of the tour operators at this location.

central located

shabby, no eating facilities, very basic and hardly 4 star

When going to Ayers Rock give the Lost Camel a wide berth. Although the location is great. The decor is early shabby, very little is in working order, and no assistance of any kind is available.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : take the aboriginal based tours

Consider staying outside the immediate area if you have a car or contact Australian tourism and urge some competition.
