This CBD hotel offers modern rooms and high levels of service, just up the road from Crown Street Mall. A minute on foot from North Wollongong train station, this Rydges property was partially refurbished in 2005 and offers spacious deluxe rooms and modernized common areas. The hotel is a short walk from the shops of Crown Street and the Keira Street restaurants, with cinemas and pubs also close by. South Beach is a ten-minute bus ride from here, but for those who want to walk it, it's a pleasant, downhill journey of 30 minutes or so that gives visitors the opportunity to settle into Wollongong's relaxed pace. A walk down Crown Street will also reveal a selection of pubs and restaurants where guests can head after their day on the beaches is done.

Clean, convenient position.
Cracks in the walls, poor breakfast service (cold food, bought coffee in take away cup)
Is Rydges Wollongong about to close? There seemed to be very few guests around. I felt it was struggling, and that the service was pretty average as a result. Nevertheless, staff were pleasant and helpful. I got blocked in the carpark by a delivery truck when trying to leave. Overall, an experience marked by averageness.
Restaurant Tip : Late night pizza around the corner when room service finishes at 10pm

Rooms are nice and spacious.
Bar was closed due to lack of patrons, my friend and I would have liked a drink there.
Had to pay for parking.
Bar should be open for a Saturday night and parking should be free. Did not appear to be much staff.
