Sofitel Resort, Denaurau Island

min. 50 words. This hotel for the star rating was not quite up to the standard expected. The staff were extremely friendly, the rooms well positioned, but it was let down by the above. When I want to lay on the beach and relax I do not expect the constant sound of jet skis using the triangle marked out behind the bathing area. A constant source of annoyance. When going into breakfast, order your coffee straight away and you may get it to enjoy. Would possibly return as the position is excellent.

This hotel is relatively new. Have stayed there before last year. Our impression is that the hotel is very large and the infrastructure and staff levels are not up to the mark. There is not a sense of being well looked after that you would expect. The billing system is random to say the least. It is clean and fairly attractive but lacks character. I reserved this hotel purely on price as we also had two other rooms booked for family members through Accor. This followed a family wedding on Malololailai Island. So in total 10 members of the family spent 1-3 nights at the Sofitel. At the time of booking it was the most reasonably priced at Denarau. My overall impression is that this hotel is more 4 star than 5.
