Not too far from the airport, great service, nice staff No elevators to carry large bags upstairs Overall, the Smugglers Cove hotel was a nice stay for the price. We flew in from a long flight in the afternoon and got into our room that was on the small side, but for the price was just what we needed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when we needed to leave extra baggage that we couldn't take on our inner-island flights, at no extra charge. There is an option for backpackers to stay in a dorm style as well. Overall it was a nice place on the beach with all the amenities needed at a good price.

The only con is both an advantage and con. Location. If you want a short break away in Fiji with a quality room at a budget price the Smugglers Cove is the place. Its combination of backpackers and more convention rooms gives it a unique mix of guests covering all age groups. Its location is great in that it is on a somewhat private beach but it is also its only con in that you need a car to effectively get anywhere else.The nightly entertainment was typically fijian and an added bonus.All in all 4 out of 5.
Travel tip : There is the Travellers Inn just a short walk which gives you another venue to eat slightly cheaper. It is also another venue to watch the great sunsets. Ww hired a car through local company Satellite would rate them 2 out of 5 possiblly better sticking with major car rentals.

We've been staying one night during the cyclone, so the hotel had difficulties with water supply. In the room I find tea and cafe facilities, but because there was no water, I went downstairs and ask for the hot tea in the bar. In the bar I've been charged $2 dollars for self serviced tea in the bag the same actually like the room. Basically I paid for the glass of boiled water. When I realized that my impression was like unfortunately something wrong in this place..Also there is free shuttle bus serviced at the airport, I believe drop off to the airport service should be offered also at least to the customers, who didn't use this offer on pick up.
Shopping Tip : Should visit Port Denarau.
