The place is showing its wear and tear. But it's clean, and the location is pretty good. For the price during the peak season, probably not worth it.
Just like everywhere else in Guam, Internet is terribly slow, and the ethernet cable wasn't working (wifi only in my room).
Restaurant Tip:
There's a free shuttle to the main drag area (or you can walk it, about 15min walk). It's the Duty Free Shop shuttle (not the red ones). There's a pretty good Jamaican restaurant next to the place. If you walk, be careful of the hustling from the several "massage" parlors.

Fantastic bathroom, comfy bed, great location

I stayed at this hotel once before and fell in love with the bathroom. When traveling, especially for business, I like to relax after a hard day's work with a long hot bath. The set up of the Royal Orchid's rooms allows you to watch TV from the huge soaking tub or put your laptop on the ledge and listen to your desired playlist. Or, if you're traveling with someone, you can simply close the pocket door and relax in private. The rooms have refrigerators, great A/C, comfy beds, nice views of the ocean and restaurants & shops attached and nearby. Plus you can walk across the street and chill on the beach in less than 5 minutes.
One downside (which is pretty common in the Pacific)--our room smelled moldy when we checked in. After running the aircon for a while and burning a candle, the smell subsided.
Also, housekeeping didn't clean the bathtub when they serviced the room but when I called, they came up and took care of it right away.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Some of the rooms have patios which I found helpful to lay out wet shoes and clothes after a day on the beach. There are also a couple of superbly decorated dooms...they are rarely available but nice if you can get one.

The room is nice. The location is great. There is also taxi service in front of the hotel. I can buy a short time, 2-3 hours, package tour from the taxi. The price is reasonable. My Cons part was the Internet in the room did not work even I called to the Front desk. But I can still use in the lobby.

Good Hotel for a Reasonable Price

Arrived in Guam early morning and was allocated my room without delay. A nice gesture because normal check-in time is 2.00 pm.
Room was spacious with good facilities but needed a freshen up.
Great location near shopping center.
Staff were quite polite and always helpful.
Hotel breakfast was ordinary, and most dishes were cold. Not very appealing.
Restaurant Tip:
Good variety of restaurants in the building. Restaurant food was good, and beer was cold.
