Friendly staff, clean room, small gym and parking
If you want to be near the CBD this isn't the hotel for you
This was a cheap, convenient hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful. Not a bad location next to the SH1 for discovering the area around Auckland. It had a small useful gym.Rooms were small but clean as per most Ibis hotels worldwide, I would definitely stay again.
It is quite some distance from the City, though we knew this when we booked, if you want to be close to the CBD then this isn't the hotel for you.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Coveniently located for discovering the area outside the CBD

Great location, good price comfortable with good service.
The hotel is located near the motorway and that means it is handy to most parts of Auckland. The rooms are small but comfortable and reflect the market segment of the hotel. It shares service facilities with the adjacent Novotel and these are of high quality but restaurant prices are higher than one would normally expect at an Ibis. It also has room service which is not normal at an Ibis hotel.
Shopping Tip : Close to Sylvia Park shopping centre.

Fantastic service (particularly by front desk/concierge).
Tiny room, somewhat musty/smelly hallways (though there were lots of people cleaning!)
As a pro, the service at Hotel Ibis Ellerslie was fantastic. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful, going above and beyond in assisting us, even printing us out step-by-step directions to various places we would be visiting. Unfortunately, the room was tiny, the bathroom being thimble-size (though the water pressure was great!), and the hallway had a wet/dirty carpet smell that was a bit off-putting.
