Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

noisy club easaly heard next door runs to all hours, can be hard to sleep. try and get a room on the right hand side of the ibis or ask for room oppiste side to club. rooms are adequate for price. close to transport hubs and shopping. good for single traveler.

Good location, very basic service
5.7
This hotel is good for the price you pay (when on special). It is very much in the center of the city, and all the important shopping spots are easily accessible by foot (not that Auckland really is a shopping city).
The rooms are very small, but ok, and the service is basic at best. They give you a new set of towels every day, and a soap. But the rest is up to you, including making the bed. When I was there both lifts were broken. Thankfully I did not have much luggage to carry down all those fire steps.
Restaurant Tip:
Right next to the Ibis is a small Chinese restaurant that serves you a very nice roast duck for an acceptable price in a city that is generally very expensive.

Small basic rooms in a good location.
Close to everything downtown
6
Really small rooms and sparsely furnished. Kinda like a hostel with rooms instead of dorms, close to everything downtown.
Pretty basic but alright for the price.
The location is great, across Queens st. from Vulcan lane.
The staff are quite good and there is a little bar downstairs.
There are lots of food/bar areas close to the hotel, including Vulcan lane, across the road, and the Viaduct about 20mins walk.
Nightlife Tip:
The Viaduct is about 20 mins walk away and has lots of bars/cafes on the water.

Elevator was broken, only one in use.. So took ages to get to the room and took the stairs mostly - felt sorry for the people who were on higher floors. Which is oddly similar to the mercure we stayed at in melbourne a couple of years ago (same company) On second day our key cards didn't work .. Waited for elevator and then to get to the room and we couldn't get in was frustrating. They'd thought we were there for one night and cancelled the cards. Even though we'd booked 4 nights which was confirmed upon arrival. There's two nightclubs a few shops up so music was loud from 9th floor at night. And rooms are tiny but you get what you pay for. Good thing was utensils and cooking implements were given so was easy to have breakfast etc in the morning in our room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Auckland is just another big city.. Don't need too much time there

great location
location, walking distance in central auckland cbd
6.3
there were only two lifts in the hotel and one was not working for the duration of our stay. i was travelling with friends who were staying on the floor below and it was very frustrating waiting over 10mins at times just to go up and down one floor because you can not enter the floors via the fire stairs

Rooms were tiny; pics on website were misleading
5
The condition of the hotel, in general, was shabby. Looked like the vacuum cleaner didn't work above the 1st floor!
And the website said that parking was available - didn't say it was available at a HUGE additional cost. Need to be upfront about the so-called amenities.

Convenient central location
private room that has all the essentials

This hotel is very easy to get to with the Airbus from the airport. It is surrounded by all the fun amenities in central Auckland city and I could easily enjoy a night out during my staying here.
Nightlife Tip:
This hotel is a short walk away from the Auckland viaduct where fine restaurants and bars are.

great location, cool room with great balcony
Great customer service, balcony, en suite bathroom

there was a communication mixup before my arrival about a taxi from the airport to the hotel. the manager straightened things out and was very nice about all of it; i really appreciated how he took care of things to make sure i was content. the room was cool. i liked the kitchen and balcony. the room and appliances, however, was pretty worn down. wifi is super expensive, better to go to a free hotspot within the city. great location! overall i enjoyed my stay and would stay again!
