Excellent location right on the waterfront
Very overpriced breakfast
The Mercure certainly served my needs for an inexpensive decent hotel right on the Auckland waterfront and adjacent to the shopping along Queen street. The room was decent sized, and included a frige. The Bathroom was cramped and the toilet did not flush reliably the first day I was there. I complained and it was properly fixed. Other than that, no issues, and the place was an excellent value at the Agoda rate.

Valet parking.
Good central location, easy to find.
Helpful staff.
Very clean and quiet room.
Could not fault this hotel.
Very clean and tidy room which appeared to be recently refurbished. Excellent view of the Sky Tower from room. Valet parking was very convenient as there is no parking in this inner city location. Very close to ferries and the shops and restaurants. Very quiet location and room given the large numbers of groups staying at the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Worthwhile visiting Devonport village area and drop into the bakery for a great snack or meal.

Beds, breakfast, location
Nothing really - all fine.
Location, Room etc all fine. Harbour view was quite nice. Staff very helpful and buffet breakfast was good if got in early - later a bit cold. View from the restaurant excellent and staff in restaurant very friendly. Beds were excellent and room adequate for two people. Facilities all good.
Nightlife Tip : Nightlife pretty quiet but good for our age over 60s. Restaurants around good.

Location, value for money, service
Audience can be loud,
limited entertainment offer in the Hotel (no Spa or massages)
The Mercure is located in walking distance to Queen Street, Sky tower and of course the water front which makes it a very convenient location to stay. This raises the problem of parking, though which the Mercure solves by offering a car valet service. The rooms are tidy and the bathrooms are ok. It seems like a lot of younger folk stays here so it can be a bit louder during the night. All in all the Mercure offers good value for money and is definitely worth a closer look.

the hotel is near the harbour, so it was easy to reach fro; our cruise ship. Really nice view from the restaurant all over the city
not enough people at tyhe reception. We have always to wait.
We liked much the surroundings of the hotel, near the shoppingcenters, near the harbour, just a walk away of the viewtower. The room is quiet, well furnished but a little bit older. All the staff of the hotel is friendly and allways try to help us. When you arrive in the morning, you can store the luggage safely until the room is available. In that time we made a first walk in the city. This is a good quality/price relation. We would recommend this hotel to all cruisers who do not want to expend too much money. Sorry for the mistakes in English, this is for us not the native language.
Restaurant Tip : Try the Wagamama only 5 minutes from the hotel: quality food for a small price

Position on waterfront
Helpful staff
Excellently positioned on waterfront. Reasonable room - you need to pay extra for water view. Excellent reception staff. Somewhat soulless room, but reasonable size and not bad value for money. Restaurant quite good, but beware table d'hote where all 3 courses come on the same plate at the same time. Good breakfast, but the fruit is all canned.

This hotels greatest feature is its location. Central to everything.
Rooms, could be so much better with just a little more attention to detail.
This hotel was awesome, as it has a great location. I would definately stay here again because of this and for the price it was well worth it.
With a location like this you would expect to pay double.
Brilliant for a city break, we stayed three nights, okay the rooms aren't the best i have ever stayed in but they are comfortable, and didn't spend long in it anyway.

The proximity to the waterfront and transport center make this an excellent place for tourists who don't have much time in Auckland you don't need to spend a lot of time getting to and from comparably priced accomodations in the suburbs.
