It is just alright for us.

It is not good for the people who are travelling with cars because the hostel doesn't have free parking spaces. Despite of this, all the others are alright for us.

Good and clean hotel with friendly staff

They upgraded me to better room.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
They had free delicious snack dinner from Monday to Saturday and roasted chicken for only 4 NZD on Sunday.
They organized Bar Crawl - 4 bars and 4 free drinks for only 10 NZD - that's a very good deal and so much fun, I think.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Return tickets (Airbus express, Fullers' ferry,...) are always better than 2 single tickets.
On Sat & Sun, Fullers' return tickets to Rangitoto island have early bird promotion for the first ferry, which is so much cheaper than normal price.

Very old-fashioned... With the money they earn, they should maybe refresh the deco and provide better matresses and good quality bathroom... I won't recommend it

Does the trick
good location for shopping, transport, sight-seeing, and night life

Typical hostel. Good location in CBD. Public transport to different parts of Auckland is really easy from here. Also good shopping, eating, and theatre within easy walking distance. Flanked on both sides by adult entertainment/services, and not exceptionally quiet or clean, but I slept well and was not grossed out. Some confusion with Agoda booking--they said they got an email from Agoda saying that I had only paid a deposit when actually I had paid in full, but that was remedied by showing my receipt. Overall a good value and I would stay there again.

great location in downtown auckland, close to pubs, night clubs, strip bars. sky city casino and viaduct harbour both a short walk away. good security and service. building fitted with a spinkler system. bed rooms, best used only when you need sleep, you may feel a little crammed in. kitchen / common areas good.

A so-so place with a questionable location

the place was located in a crappy part of downtown. they wouldn't allow you to bring beer or anything into your room because they want you to buy beer from the bar downstairs which is also owned by the hotel. however there are lots of cool things to see that are within walking distance. the area is nice as long as you get a couple of blocks away from the hotel.
Nightlife Tip:
There is an amazing brewery just down the street from the hostel. Really good selection of in house brews.
