Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Excellent price (via Agoda) for a "international quality" hotel located not far from the city center. Approximately 15 minute walk to the waterfront.
This was probably once a five-star hotel but is quite dated.
Impressive open lobby with soaring atrium marks this hotel as one intended to cater to business travelers and upper market tourists. Rooms are fairly large with a comfortable bed, desk, etc., but all fixtures are nearing the end of their useful life. My guess is that the hotel was last remodeled 30 years ago. Still, at the Agoda price it was a fantastic bargain -- the best value for price we had during our entire stay in NZ.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : To walk down to the waterfront and main tourist areas, head over to Queen street and then walk down. it is much more interesting that heading down the street in front of the hotel.

Good value for the money, clean spacious rooms with good amenities
a bit spartan on the service. Not a 5*, although the place that used to occupy the same building was (Carlton)
The rooms were excellently appointed, and the location was good, but it was a bit of a pain to walk to because it was up a fairly significant hill. The hotel seemed to be under-staffed as a cost cutting measure. Didn't try the restaurants, but they looked attractive. The layout of the hallways was a bit confusing at first, but once one got the hang of it, it was not a problem. I'd stay there again if I got the same great deal, but not at the normal rates, which were nearly double what I paid
