Excellent price (via Agoda) for a "international quality" hotel located not far from the city center. Approximately 15 minute walk to the waterfront.

This was probably once a five-star hotel but is quite dated.

Impressive open lobby with soaring atrium marks this hotel as one intended to cater to business travelers and upper market tourists. Rooms are fairly large with a comfortable bed, desk, etc., but all fixtures are nearing the end of their useful life. My guess is that the hotel was last remodeled 30 years ago. Still, at the Agoda price it was a fantastic bargain -- the best value for price we had during our entire stay in NZ.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : To walk down to the waterfront and main tourist areas, head over to Queen street and then walk down. it is much more interesting that heading down the street in front of the hotel.

Nice comfortable beds and clean rooms. Hotel is in a good location

Tv sets are very old

I liked the hotel, however i had numerous problems with tvs. I had to change rooms because of tv sets that don't work. Very old television sets. The hotel is clean and comfortable, but needs some upgrading. Bathrooms were very nice!!!

Good value for the money, clean spacious rooms with good amenities

a bit spartan on the service. Not a 5*, although the place that used to occupy the same building was (Carlton)

The rooms were excellently appointed, and the location was good, but it was a bit of a pain to walk to because it was up a fairly significant hill. The hotel seemed to be under-staffed as a cost cutting measure. Didn't try the restaurants, but they looked attractive. The layout of the hallways was a bit confusing at first, but once one got the hang of it, it was not a problem. I'd stay there again if I got the same great deal, but not at the normal rates, which were nearly double what I paid

Good facilities. Room spacious with nice view.

We were not informed that parking would cost us $12 per day until we checked out. We did not see it written anywhere, and staff did not inform us when they activated the parking card. It came to an extra $50 on our bill that we were not expecting. Please improve communication in this area.

We had a comfortable stay at the Rendezvous. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room service was good, and we enjoyed the view from our room. Booking was made very easy over the internet, as was payment. We also appreciated the location so close to the centre of town. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

Beautifully appointed decore in rooms as well as public areas

Just one the pool was too cold although it is an indoor pool.

The staff were efficient. The busffet breakfast was the best I have ever had and I have stayed in many hotels. All the public areas were very clean and well maintained. The room was a joy to be in.

Hotel staff were friendly and room was clean, bathroom great, incredibly comfortable bed. Rate through Agoda was awesome, certainly recommend that!

Hotel could do with a bit of revamp in the rooms, although the quality was obviously there it has the feeling of being a little bit tired.

The rate through Agoda was excellent and for the price the value was certainly there. What a comfortable bed and a great bathroom, staff were friendly too. Hotel could perhaps do with a bit of a zizz up as it was obviously a quality hotel but has slipped back a little bit I imagine

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We walked down Queen Street and took a ferry to Waiheke Island where we rented a car for the day ... fantastic! Lunch on the waterfront at Onetangi on Waiheke, try it you'll love it! If you want a quick snack from the hotel go to the food court just by the Aotea centre as there is plenty of variety and cheap too.

Large & clean rooms. Easy parking on site. Bathrooms were spacious with a separate tub and shower area.

Internet access was a bit pricey. Windows in room didn't have safety locks making it dangerous for kids.

Stayed at the Rendezvous for 2 nights early Aug 09. Overall, the stay was pleasant and its location was within walking distance to the main shopping areas of Queen St. Approx 15mins walk, which is easy on a nice winters day. Its even closer to SkyCity, although we didn't head there. Rooms overall was good although my room (Rm#1010) faced the police HQ and every so often, the sirens would go off and the soundproofing from the windows wasn't really that good. For guests with kids, please be very careful with the window as a part of the window on the side can be opened and it does not have any proper safety latches. It can be easily opened by any kid although there is a higher latch only reachable to adults (or kids standing on a chair). My 4 year old son was with me and I had to watch him like a hawk throughout. The hotel should look into making the windows safer. Apart from the windows, the hotel is pretty good. Apart from the buffet breakfast, which was just ok, I didn't try the hotel restaurants so can't comment. I have heard that the Japanese restaurant in the hotel is pretty good.

Hotel Feature Tip : Ask for rooms that aren't facing the police headquarters.

Some helpful Staff, good size rooms, clean and tidy, very close to Queen Street

small and very dated television sets, bar closes very early, some staff are unhelpful.

On arrival it was difficult for the staff to deal with the booking through agoda, admittedly we had only booked the same day but it was something we had to deal with continuously through our stay, rather than one staff member picking up the issue and just dealing with it. Some staff members were very helpful and friendly which is nice. The room was a good size, but very dated decor and an incredibly old television that made all sorts of strange noises

The room was clean, nice, and surprisingly bigger than I expected. I like the atrium area.

Restaurant was expensive and the food was okey.

The room was clean, nice, and surprisingly bigger than I expected. The hotel was close to the public transportation and shopping centers. Night Life was walking distance and you can walk to any restaurant that may be less expensive to eat than Rendevouz. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I will consider coming back to Rendevouz. Next time, I will stay longer to explore the south island. Although, I really enjoyed the north island, too bad I was there when it started snowing on the south island.

Good location, spacious room, good gym.

Internet expensive.

We found the Rendezvous Hotel to be very pleasant to stay in during our short stay in Auckland. It has tastefully decorated and spacious rooms. The gym is very good also and we found the concierge to be very helpful in arranging a rental car for us. The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the CBD and a good base for exploring the areas around Auckland.

Great Location - Nice Room, clean & comfy and a real nice breakfast

None

We stayed for four nights, two before and two after our tour of the north island of New Zealand. We were pleased with the location, the check in and out service, free internet and just a great breakfast buffet. We had a jacuzzi tub in our suite as well. The central location was great and we had easy cab access to the cruise ship facility nearby.

Restaurant Tip : Several great restaurants within easy walking distance from hotel

Original architecture, reasonably close to centre, high level of comfort - beds, carpets. Air-conditioning quiet. Club class option. Good reasonably-priced restaurant.

Internet wifi only works in lobby and should be complimentary. The hotel is a little 'cold' in style.

We enjoyed staying at this very comfortable hotel and our room on 12th (top) floor had fine views, but not of the harbour. One of the few hotels which does not have loud, intrusive and irritating muzak everywhere. Insulation was excellent and we slept soundly on very comfortable beds with perfect linen. The bathroom had many good quality features, a separate shower and mirrors. Plentiful storage. Just a little far to walk to the lively part of town.

Hotel Feature Tip : Club class is good value, especially if you have a car.

Relatively central. Balcony suite was great! Clean, comfortable and breakfast was very good.

Attitude of the staff. Our booking was logged incorrectly and took a while to sort out. There were parties in surrounding rooms which went on til 2am.

I enjoyed most parts of my stay at the Rendezvous. The Balcony suite was really lovely and it was the perfect romantic getaway. Unfortunately our stay was interrupted by a large party in the penthouse suite and another in the balcony suite above us which went til 2am - both nights we stayed there. The hotel staff didn't care that most guests would rather be sleeping than listening to loud parties.. We won't stay there again. Which is a shame, because it is a lovely hotel, central and well appointed. But if you want to sleep, be aware that they happily allow large parties in the ordinary rooms.
